Qualcomm on its quest to dominate the CPU with its chipset has launched the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G which is meant to help users benefit from superior performance and multi-day battery life despite the 5G technology support as well as enterprise-grade security and AI acceleration and better camera and audio technology.
It will also bring advanced power and performance to personal computers as well delivering over 50% greater system-wide performance and battery life compared to competing solutions in the same grade.
Other good things the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G will provide includes support for the Sub-6 GHz and 5G mmWave and also the Wi-Fi all which makes it pretty much advanced.
The chipset will also support a much clearer audio experience by utilizing the Qualcomm Aqstic echo cancellation and noise suppression (ECNS) technology to focus on the sounds coming from the PC and the user’s environment as well.

Devices powered by the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G compute platform can also utilize high-resolution camera modules.
The chipset further come with the Qualcomm Spectra ISP that makes mobile camera technology as well as 4K HDR with support for 32MP camera sensors. Any device powered by the said chipset will further have support for dual 4K display through a single Type C cable to a dock.
Another important thing the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G will bring to the table includes ability to support AI accelerated experiences on PC which further gives user a stronger video conferencing interactions through tools like accelerated eye contact and expressive avatars.
Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G will “drive a new standard of security and manageability for enterprises, small businesses, and education,” according to words from Qualcomm. Lastly, the new platform also supports Microsoft Secured Core PC and Windows Hypervisor. It is expected to be in commercial devices in late 2020.
