Samsung released its Galaxy A21 Simple SCV49 in Japan and it’s now available through carriers such as au, NTT DoCoMo, UQmobile, and J:COM. The device comes with a pretty simple design and it’s aimed at older users.
The Galaxy A21 Simple comes with a lanyard eyelet which will be great prevention of accidental drops. The phone is also IP68/IPX5 rated, so it is dust, water, and water jet resistant.
The device will also support Osaifu-Keitai mobile payment system which helps to simplify payments at stores and public transports. Also, the user interface has been tweaked with big icons and easy-to-use buttons and fonts which will make the device much easier for the older generations to utilize. The custom launcher is based on the current Android 11 OS.
Away from its simplistic approach, the Galaxy A21 Simple is powered by the Exynos 7884B chipset with an octa-core processor and two Cortex-A73 cores at 1.6GHz. Its GPU is a Mali-G71 MP2 with support for a 4G LTE modem for a quick internet connection.

In terms of storage capacity, it comes with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded using a MicroSD slot. There is an FM radio receiver that can be used through its 3.5mm headphone jack support as well as other entertainment support.
The phone has a small 5.8” display with 720p+ resolution (19.5:9 aspect ratio), it appears to be a basic LCD panel. There’s no fingerprint reader on board, so the only biometric lock is face recognition using the 5 MP camera on the front. The rear camera has a 13 MP sensor and can record 1080p video.
In the power department, it is powered by a 3,600 mAh battery that can last for about 24 hours though charging can take an excess of 2 hours depending on the Charger because Samsung forgot to add one out of the box.
The Samsung Galaxy A21 Simple SCV49 will become available on September 9. It will be available in Black and White. The price of one is JPY 22,000 ($200/€170), though that is if you get it SIM-free.

One thing to take note of however is the fact that the Galaxy A21 Simple is a really different device compared to the Galaxy A21 and A21S both of which come with low-end specifications but with bigger batteries and are also available in Japan.
