Earlier on today, we published a quick guide on how to view your saved password on Safari for iPhone and iPad users. This is a follow up to that but this time around it’s a quick guide on how to view saved password in Chrome.

The Google password manager is built to work with all it’s applications and software including the Android operating system which means whatever changes you make on your Chrome browser on desktop will have effects on your mobile Chrome browser so far you are logged in to your Google account.

So if for whatever reason you forgot your password or you basically want to view your saved password for a particular website and want to use it on another browser or whatever it is you need your password for, it’s very possible to view it despite the fact that passwords are usually encrypted and blocked with * icons in order to keep them safe.

In this quick guide, we’ll go through the process of viewing your saved passwords on your Desktop’s Google Chrome browser.

To start, you just click on the three dot icon at the top right corner of your Google Chrome desktop application and then you’ll see a drop down. Next is to click on the Settings option in the drop down and you’ll be taken to the Settings page.

In the settings page, there are two options you can go through. Since there are enormous list of settings, trying to figure out where the Password Manager is might not be for you especially if you’re in hurry so what you do is simply type the keyword “Password” that’s what I do all the time…I search whatever I’m looking for.

Then you’ll see the password manager option then click on it and you’ll see all your passwords based on the websites where you’ve used them.

The passwords are in alphabetical order for ease of sorting but you can skip the process of looking through one after the order by merely searching through the small search box in the Password Manager for example “Brumpost” and then you’ll be presented with your account which is usually with your username and password in front of it.

What you’ll immediately notice is that all the passwords are protected with the “*******” icons. Next tot he icon at the far right side is an “eye” icon which when clicked will reveal your password but not so fast.

Google Chrome will request permission first for authentication purposes which by prompting you to enter your PC’s password in order to confirm if you truly are permitted to view this. If you enter your password correctly, Chrome will automatically open the password for you so you can copy it.
