Apple, Inc. a multinational company big enough that everyone wants to associate with its brand.
Their devices ranges from the iconic Mac Computers, the iPod, iPad and of course the iPhone and the new AirPod which is now part of the device lines.
The company known for its beautiful designs and powerful hardware specifications in the early 2000s especially when the released the iPhone. We all loved the innovations and even the man behind all these innovations Steve
was seen as the smartest person of our times. While that might be true to some extent, Apple in recent times had failed woefully in its handling of its so-called new “innovations” and technologies.
After the death of Steve Jobs in 2011, some people thought this might be the demise of the brain behind the company while die hard lovers of Apple products believes otherwise.
But sincerely, after 2015, Apple’s innovations had been disastrous on the user’s experience; something they claimed their hardware and software are meant to cater for.
But whether Apple is on the verge of nosedive or just struggling with which innovation that works or not, let’s examine the following.
Apple might be dubious
I’m not apologetic for my choice of words. But let’s come to think of it, Apple is known for ditching, adding, ditching and even ditching something or the other on their devices.
While this might be for the best interest of the customers as they’ve claimed, having to remove a feature only to resell it back to the user as a separate product entirely with a huge buck is a dubious act from my point of view. Let’s consider the following
AirPod for Headphones
While the new AirPod that started with the IPhone 7 is a very beautiful device. I mean you don’t have to necessarily plug in a 3.5m headphone jack to your phone every now and then and don’t forget that most Apple’s former headphones had bad wires and cords which gets damaged easily when not properly handled and then Apple charges you to purchase another which also gets ripped off easily soon.
The AirPod comes to the rescue only that Apple had ripped out the headphone jack port entirely.
That might be sad because you have to always be with the ear buds if you so want to listen to songs or do something with your privacy.
And you’re only limited to the AirPod alone because the device doesn’t support any other earbud you might purchase from any third party vendor.
Unfixable Macbook computers
Whether your Macbook is a $1600 worth of device or as high as $7000, its like you’re paying for something that’s not worth it.
I wouldn’t dispute the fact that the Apple’s Macbooks all have amazing designs and physical features that makes attractive.
They’re usually slim and lightweight which is what anyone would love to have but Apple always have to give something up for this…. The powerful functionality.
While this post is definitely not your typical Mac vs Windows or IOS vs Android kind of thing, it’s worth noting that the Functional specs of a Macbook device in its price range is of lower quality in performances compared to a Windows PC if that price range.
While that’s not the issue here, the funniest thing is how Apple tells you that their devices can’t be fixed whenever you take it for reparation.
I mean the Apple engineers at the Official Apple stores won’t technically tell you its not repairable but you’ll be nulled the same price a new Mac computer would cost you.
Sometimes they just go blunt out and tell you to buy another one.
They even went ahead as making their own screws so that the devices can’t be opened by any third party operator.
Apple took a recent legal action against a Mac screen repairer though they lost. You can see how far they’ve monopolised their products.
While this is a good business strategy, it isn’t good for customer’s interest as they’ve claimed.
Intentionally slowing down older iPhone
Earlier this year, the company was sued for business malpractices which aren’t favourable to customers.
They were sued for slowing down their older iPhones’ CPU; why because they claimed that they don’t want the new operating systems to damage the older device’s battery so they offered two choices.
Get a new battery (which they claimed was the main motive) or simply buy a new iPhone.
Okay you might have heard about lots controversies about Apple constantly monitoring you and whatever you do,the fact is that Apple has so much control over its devices because the operating systems are made to work with the device’s hardware. That’s a lot of control.
They sue everyone
While this might sound sentimental from others’ point of views its not bad to think of Apple as always trying to take legal action actions against people for trying to help people enjoy the tech luxury they’ve spent loads of dollars to purchase.
Let’s forget about the host of battle between the company and Samsung its arch-rival, what would you say to a mini repair shop that helps fix broken Apple screen just for a few bucks instead of having to purchase an entire screen everytime there is a single blotch on the device’s screen.
I was surprised Apple didn’t patent notched display. It would have been the greatest mobile disaster considering how many Android device makers that have adopted this design.
They failed to improve
This issue comes on with the Apple Macbook Pro. Although the innovative design Apple came up with last year during the initial release of the iPhone X was a big bang for the company and yeah that led to the demise of the “always looking the same” iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
New face ID trumped the olden touch ID and a better camera and other specs which were cool last year.
But before then, you can’t identify the difference between the IPhone 6, 7 and 8 because they are basically the same thing and the same with the iPhone X which is a bit of an upgrade to the line with newer features.
While many device manufacturers are guilty of that, Apple is known to always charge overly high for its products.
I got arguments that it’s because the IOS is a doper operating system than the Android OS and other stuffs like that but the reality is people aren’t buying apple products, they’re buying the brand in order words, getting identified with the “brand”
The 2018 Macbook Pro is another big example of how Apple keep failing its customers.
The inclusion of a core i9 in such a flat and light machine could mean a lot.
Although we’ve not yet gotten our hands on our own units so as to be able to review the product and see how cool or horrible it is, there have been lots of complaints and grunts from other product reviewers and gadget bloggers online saying the device is terrible.
I mean more than 10 people saying exactly the same thing isn’t a made up story.
While Apple had refused to incorporate a touch screen capability in the Mac OS something which is already a norm and trendy with Windows OS instead, they invented the touch bar which is in most cases useless because most Apple users barely use it, the iPad had suffered as well with bad software management.
We can’t compare an iPad with the Microsoft Surface Pro for example because it runs a full blown Windows OS, supports multiple touch and even has a back stand and a keyboard which can be folded to cover the device’s screen as it if was its main cover.
Using an Apple product comes with a lot of compromise like battery, USB connectivity, RAM and performances.
Apple don’t really care
That’s another notion I have against the tech giant, Apple.
Although most for-profit organizations always are after the profit and when the product when it cone
For many years, we’ve been hearing the same complaints over Apples’ products one on one everyday but none had been resolved and in fact, its very difficult for a company as big as this to take decisions out of this campaign all suddenly.
Of course there is always the need for proper meetings and so forth.
Others are winning
When I heard about the Pocofone F1, I was awed about how such a $299 can actually rival a $1000 iPhone X.
While it’s not only the Pocofone that is thriving as a potential alternative to the IPhone XS, others like The Samsung Galaxy S9, LG G7 ThinQ and TV much talk about Oneplus 6.
These smartphones are well built and designed with the best materials possible.
It’s as if Apple is just being arrogant about the pricing of their products and not minding losing their customers to their rivals.
The same is with the Macbook Pro. First of all, the large or oversized track pad makes typing difficult despite the fact that the keyboard itself doesn’t feel premium and sounds like an old typewriter device.
If that doesn’t sound discouraging enough, there are way lots of amazing Windows 10 PC in town that mocks the Apple Macbook Pro design in every sense and yet offers close or even better functionalities than the device itself.
For example the Huawei Matebook is a very beautiful Windows PC that has close resemblance to the Macbook and offers some amazing features that makes it a better choice than the Macbook.
Another example is the Macbook vs Dell XPS 9570, while the Macbook Pro might seem slimmer, it doesn’t offer the same quality as the cheaper DELL XPS PC.
In the terms of looks and designs, there are now lots of Chinese companies that creates ultra book PC that resembles a Macbook. For example, the Chuwi Lapbook Air which is flat and has a laminated screen that fits right well.
The Lenovo Yoga is another example and the HP Spectre offers some amazing quality and yet outstanding designs. Convertibles like the HP X360 which ships with Intel Core i5 is another big alternative.
We hope the Apple company can listen to our pleas and offer a better service and products to customers
