The Apple WatchOS 7 release date is going to be September if everything goes well as planned. That time, the company will be releasing a set of operating systems such as the Mac OS Big Sur, iOS 14, iPadOS 14, TvOS 14, as well devices among which is the iPhone 12, Apple Watch series 6.
The release of the WatchOS 7 had been in the news over a long time now and there are some cool features we’re expecting to come on with the release among which is the ability to share watch faces with your friends.
The unveiling of the WatchOS 7 was made during the WWDC 2020 where the company showed what will be coming on the new operating systems including the iOS 14 and iPadOS 14.
But one history Apple made with the WatchOS 7 is the fact that the company had decided to let out the beta version of the operating system for those who would like to give it a trial which arrived this month of August as the stable version could be announced just in a matter of one month time.
With the release of the WatchOS 7 will come some cool features which includes fitness tracking as well as sleep tracking all which are very essential. With the update, other Apple watches such as the Series 4 and 5 and others below that that support the new operating system will enjoy this benefit to the max.
There is even a rumor that a feature as big as the blood oxygen levels tracker will come on with the WatchOS 7 release but I wonder if that wouldn’t require an hardware to make it work better rather than merely the software unless the Apple watch sensors are so ultra powerful enough to be able to use algorithmic detection for these results like it did with heartbeat rate.
WatchOS 7 release date and availability
The release of the WatchOS7 can be tracked back to the release of the previous generations before it which all fell within the range of September around the time which Apple would chunk out a load of devices and software for it’s customers among which will be the main device that will be bundled with the WatchOS 7 and that’s the Apple Watch Series 6.
One thing for sure which we think might disrupt the release date of the WatchOS 7 is the current case of the COVID-19 pandemic which had a big hold on numerous economies as well as negatively impacting productions.
There were rumors that there could be a push back for the Apple device release to be next year 2021 which mean a stable WatchOS 7 could be by that time but no one is certain about it just yet.
The developer beta version of the WatchOS 7 is now available which can be downloaded from the Apple’s developer website.
Apple confirmed the iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 betas on July 9, and gave an update that watchOS 7’s version would be “coming soon”.
Will anyone with an Apple Watch get watchOS 7?
Yes for users with the Watch 3, 4 or 5 according to Apple. The release of the WatchOS 7 will bring some cool features to these older devices making them updated and fit right well to the modern timing.
Meanwhile for users of the much older Watch series 1 and 2, there will be no update for them and even they missed out on the WatchOS6 release as well so it will not be big deal if theyre being skipped for the newest release. That’s Apple saying “upgrade”.
Some col features of the WatchOS 7
You can now create your own selection of watch faces or even enable multiple complications. These can be shared with people using the same operating system as you.
Sleep tracking finally possible
Sleeping is super essential and the inclusion of this feature on the WatchOS 7 is an amazing feat for the company. With that said, you’ll be able to monitor your sleep routine via logs and also set a time frame for yourself to be able to see how well you sleep all in sync with the device’s health app.
Workouts: dance and cooldowns
There is an inclusion of a fitness feature on the WatchOS 7 which is Dance being added to the body workout allowing you to track four of the most popular all which includes dance styles from Bollywood, Cardio dance, hip hop and Latin.
The Watch will use it’s sensor combined with data from the accelerometer, gyroscope all which will be used to measure while you’re moving your hands and legs.
There are a few other new workout modes, including core training, functional strength training, and even cool-downs for winding down your exercise sessions.
Handwashing…cos COVID-19
Yeah one thing which the WHO had been clamoring to everyone since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic is the need to constantly wash your hand as often as possible and the Apple WatchOS 7 will as well be one of the best reminder to let you know if you’ve not washed your hand cleaned enough.
The software is said to use machine learning to detect whether you wash your hands for a full 20 seconds as advised by the world health organization or not.
Better still, your handwashing data will be fed into the iPhone’s Health app, which will show the frequency and duration of washing your hands. Not only are your Apple Watch + iPhone paying attention – the Health app will also provide information on the importance of handwashing.
Noisy environment detection
Basically this feature has been with the release of the older WatchOS 6 which let you know if an environment where you are is too loud enough that it might be damaging to your hearing.
The functionality will now be exceeded with the release of the WatchOS 7 which will further enhance this functionality letting you know if your surroundings are too loud.
The World Health organization stated that 80 decibels for about 40 hours per week is the normal and any exceeding can pose a problem so the WatchOS 7 is there to help you out.
The Health app on the iPhone will also track how long you’ve been exposed to high decibel levels over the week (that’s also where users can control the maximum audio level for headphone volume). In accordance with Apple’s privacy attitude, none of this audio data is saved or recorded by the Health app or your Apple Watch.
Come with Siri
The release of the WatchOS 7 will sport the Siri AI assistant being able to handle biggest tasks including translation, dictation through the Apple Neural Engine as well as the being able to use voice assistant to audibly speak messages via the Announce Messages feature all cool.
