You’ve probably heard us talking about the next Samsung’s folding smartphone which is obviously not going to be named “Galaxy Flip 2” or whatever you might have suggested to the South Korean company. The Galaxy Z Flip is going another direction with amazing features and in fact a different design which seems to be after the Motorola Razr flip smartphone released last year.
By the way, it’s been a 3 weeks long reveal with rumors and leaks flying everywhere throughout the internet surrounding the Galaxy Z Flip which gives us more overview of what Samsung is planning to do with this device. A new report that we got from Twitter has it that the Galaxy Z Flip won’t just fold but also offer amazing hardware specifications.
So Galaxy Z Flip. Capacitive fingerprint scanner on the side. Dual 12MP cameras, wide and ultra wide. 15W charging. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging are supported.

The front display is 0.1″. You can use it to check charging speeds and battery info. It will also work as a view finder for the camera so you can use the better rear camera for selfies.

According to a Twitter post made by Max Weinbach who also revealed big details about the Galaxy S20 series, he gave more hints about the hardware features of the next Galaxy Z Flip.
According to his tweet, the device will sport a Dynamic AMOLED panel which will be covered with an Ultra Thing Glass or UTG . As for the UTG, this is meant to provide a much better display safety for the Galaxy Z Flip’s display because plastic will get scratched out eventually.
There will also be a side-mounted fingerprint scanner as well as the device being powered by a Qualcomm’s SnapDragon 855+ chipset rather than just the normal SD855 which had earlier being rumored to be featured on the device.

Another interesting reveal is the outward 1-Inch notification-only display panel which shows important information such as the device’s charging speeds, the battery level, time, date and other important quick info about the device. As for the cameras, it’s said to sport a dual 12MP sensors.
As for thee power, we don’t know how much battery Samsung will place within this thing but it’s obviously going to get a 15W wired charging while there will also be both wireless and reverse charging capabilities even though nothing much is revealed about the charging speed of those.
In terms of pricing, this is definitely going to be another premium smartphone which means you should be ready to pay some premium fee as well probably in the realms of $800 and above. If the device has a 5G variant, that’s absolutely going to be even costlier because 5G radio bands are.
We expect Samsung to make announcements about the Galaxy Z Flip this Q1 during which the company will likely be announcing the Galaxy S20 series. Stay tuned for more information on everything related to Samsung and the Galaxy product lineup.
