According to report from The Wall Street Journal, the US President Donald Trump’s administration held a talk with semiconductor companies about building chip factories in the United States on Sunday. The companies who were in the meeting was Intel Corp and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing CO. (TSMC) according to the newspaper report which also cited sources and correspondence viewed by the Journal.

TSMC on its own had been in talk with the US Commerce and Defense Department as well as Apple, Inc which is also one of its biggest customer about building manufacturing infrastructures in the US added the report. The news also go on to extend that the some US officials are also seeking to help South Korea’s Samsung Electronics which already has a chip factory in Austin, Texas to expand its contract-manufacturing operations in the US.It did not give details of any incentives that may be on offer to chipmakers.

TSMC, Apple, Intel and Samsung Electronics were not immediately available for comment on Sunday.

But the Donald Trump administration has been poised into bettering the economy which involves negotiating with big tech companies and manufacturers to bring factories and make stuffs in the US as the country continues it’s trade war on China which had led to the banning of a number of Chinese companies including Huawei fro working with any US-Based companies.

Some economist had argued the US might experience economic recession after the Coronavirus pandemic is over due to the millions of job loss as a result of the shelter-in-place order restraining people from working. While some Governors are already partially reopening their states, some are still well shut tightly but the US government is considering stretching its helping hand to helping companies as well as taxpayers through relief stimulus.
