We’re finally in the year 2023 and Meta is said to be preparing to announce whether it will permit former U.S. President, Donald Trump back on Facebook and Instagram or not according to a report from Financial Times on Sunday.
Previously, the decision is said to be made as soon as January 7th when it will make it known if it is allowing the former outspoken U.S. President back on all of its platforms all not.
The decision is now said to be shifted later into the month according to the publication based on references from an individual familiar with the matter.
Meta is said to have set up a working group that will focus on the issue and the group includes staffers from public policy and communications teams as well as others from the content policy team with the company.

Meta did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Unlike Meta’s Facebook and Instagram, Elon Musk after completing the purchase of Twitter reinstated a number of accounts on the platform one of which was the former President’s even though he has never made a single tweet ever since the reinstatement.
In an interview, Trump said he’ll rather stick with his own platform – Truth social – which he founded after his social media presence was in peril after the Jan. 6th riot.
Although he lost to Joe Biden in the 2020’s presidential election, Trump believes he can get re-elected back as President by 2024 after launching a bid in November.
