After the announcement that Google is releasing Android 12 to the AOSP repository, many can’t stop wondering when they’ll be able to get their hands on the update or whether their smartphones will offer support for the new OS.
While it’s quite certain that newer smartphones will definitely have the chance of being upgraded to Android 12, older devices dating as far back as 2017 or 2018 may not get that ability for an upgrade unless the device is made by a really generous OEM most of which are often generous enough to release constant software update and supports all free of charge.
Google Pixel devices will get the update later in the year while the forthcoming Pixel 6 series will definitely be the frontrunner for the Android 12 update out of the box.
The new software update comes with some intuitive design upgrades which Google calls Material You ridden with cool features and nice design aesthetics.
There are also interesting security and privacy updates that make the software even better than it used to be and it will reportedly become more power-efficient with the new update.
Based on reports, below is a list of devices that will get the Android 12 update later on this year especially when it’s fully available and OEMs are done tweaking the system up with their own custom skins – if you know what I mean.

So there you have the uncompleted list which will get updated subsequently depending on the approach each OEM decides to take. Another thing for sure is the fact that the update will definitely be in batches which means some devices may receive the update earlier than others.
That way, the update will run through until 2022.
