Those who are still using any of the older OnePlus 7 series (7, 7 Pro, 7T, and 7T Pro), you’re going to be getting an Android 12 update finally even though Google recently debuted Android 13 in all its glory.
OnePlus initially started out with a beta version of the software update before making things stable whereby users will now be getting their software updates.
So even if you’re not part of the Beta testing group, you should get the Android 12 update with all that comes with it.
To further buttress this, the new update comes with the H.28 labeling and will be received by those using the OnePlus 7, and 7 Pro while the label F.16 will be received by those using the OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro.

Another thing though which is also late on arrival is the fact that the update comes with the August 2022 security patch level which might not be fascinating to most users who want their devices to be on the current security level.
Laced on top of the update is the OxygenOS 12.1 with a number of cool user interface tweaks and additions.
With that, you get things such as three-level dark mode, new style options for Card in Shelf, a new Smart Battery Engine that algorithmically prolong the life of your battery, new app icons, and a number of system UI tweaks, including typography and iconography.
Did I also mention there is support for blocking spam MMS, and an HyperBoost end-to-end frame rate stabilizer for games.
The update also includes Work Life Balance which includes the ability to quickly switch between Work and Life as well as a Quick Settings toggle, and support for automatic switching based on your locations.
There is also a new Gallery update that allows you to switch between layouts using a two-finger pinch gesture as well as the Canvas AOD sporting new styles of lines and colors, new brushes and strokes, and improved facial recognition.
Basically, the update brings you closer to what you have been missing for so long. Hopefully, OnePlus can work on quickly integrating the new Android 13 update in future software updates.
