Project xCloud which is a gaming service on xBox is said to be rolled out in Beta for testing in the UK, US and South Korea starting from October this year. Registration for the Project xCloud Public Preview is now available for those who reside in the aforementioned countries.
In the preview includes games like Halo 5: Guardians, Gears 5, Killer Instinct and Sea of Thieves. These games will be presented in their complete form and additional titles will be added throughout the beta period.
To play the preview, you need a phone or tablet device that runs at least Android 6.0 upward (iOS is unsupported) with a Bluetoorh 4.0 capability. There must also be a Microsoft account as well as a Bluetooth-enabled xBox One Wireless Controller. xBox also recommends you acquire a phone mount for the controller unless you’re playing through a tablet. All these are the little device caveats to be aware of before you signup.
Microsoft also promised a new app will be developed for Android: Microsoft Game Streaming. It’ll be published on Google Play Store but still, for the aforementioned countries. This service isn’t really about Microsoft trying to get you the feel of it’s cloud based gaming platform. It’s meant to gather data to improve the game service from the Team’s perspective.
