Xiaomi announced the MiUI version 12 last week and the company is now working to roll out the new update on numerous of its smartphones. The MiUI 12 closed beta build is now accessible for more devices since the time of its initial release and so the company made a list of 33 devices (Redmi and Xiaomi) that will support the MiUI 12 Developer Builds in China. The MIUI 12 support for Redmi Note 8 Pro is dropped due to bricking issues in China. Meanwhile the China-based build aren’t really meant for global users as the build doesn’t have support for Google Play Services as well as doesn’t have support for different languages.
With the new MiUI 12 build, there have been numerous improvements and enhancements which includes a newer design animations with real-time light and shadow effects using the MiUI Light Cone Motion Effect Architecture. There is also a new layered Dynamic Icons which generates real-time feedback based on Speed and direction.

Other interesting features of the MiUI 12 includes a new Control Center which is well thought out from t he previous quick settings panel, then there is also an improved navigation gestures, app drawer, live wallpapers, floating windows and a better dark mode. There is also the Mi Share firmware and a host of others but the most important pitching point the company is making is that the update is meant to secure user data.
