The world of smartphones is getting more exciting as Xiaomi introduces its latest flagship – the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. It is a smartphone that is set to change the photography benchmark in the industry with its impressive array of features and innovations.
Unlike its predecessor, the 12S Ultra, the 13 Ultra will be available globally, making it accessible to a wider audience.
The primary focus of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is on its cameras.
The smartphone boasts four cameras, all done in collaboration with Leica, a renowned brand in the photography industry.

These four cameras sit under a unified glass dome, known as the Leica Vario-Summicron 1:1.8-3.0/12-120 ASPH lens.
The primary camera has a 50MP 1-inch IMX989 sensor with a physically stabilized 23mm lens that has a two-step aperture.
The aperture allows for an f/1.9 opening for the shallowest depth of field or bokeh, and an f/4.0 for a sharper image.
The sensor bins 1.6µm pixels 4-to-1, producing 12.5MP images with huge 3.2µm individual pixels.
The other three cameras use the new 50MP IMX858 sensor, which measures 1/2.51″.
The cameras are a 75mm f/1.8 OIS 3.2x mid-range zoom, a 5x 120mm camera with a new brighter f/3.0 lens, and a 12mm f/1.8 autofocusing ultrawide with 5cm macro focusing capabilities.
Using in-sensor-zoom technology, the 13 Ultra offers a 2x 46mm and 10x 240mm mode option.
The front camera is a 32MP f/2.0 fixed focus camera that bins pixels 4-to-1, producing 8MP final shots.
Aside from the physical features, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra also has innovative features.
The partnership with Leica brought two camera color science modes, namely Leica Vibrant and Leica Authentic.

The phone also has a new 50MP UltraRAW mode for the primary camera that provides 14-bit DNG files with built-in multi-frame sharpening, noise reduction, and dynamic range adjustment for additional tweaking.
Adobe provides a custom camera profile for Lightroom.
The phone also has a unique feature called Fast Shot mode, which allows users to take the focusing time out of taking a shot by setting a predetermined focusing distance.
The “Fast Shot” feature snaps a photo in just 0.8 seconds, making it perfect for aspiring street photographers.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra has a camera-inspired design with a circular lens-like camera module, a metal frame, and a back panel that comes in leather (on the Black and Green model).
The leather is made of antibacterial nanotech silicon leather that reaches a 99% bacterial inhibition rate.
The upper portion of the rear panel is slightly elevated to accentuate the camera module.
The phone’s screen is a 6.73-inch 3200x1440px AMOLED screen with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to a 240Hz touch sampling rate.
The panel can reach as high as 2600 nits of brightness.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra uses the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. It is available in 12/256GB, 16/512GB, and 16GB/1TB with UFS 4.0 storage.
The Snapdragon chip is cooled by Xiaomi’s self-developed Loo LiquidCool tech, using an aerospace
