After work yesterday, as usual I began surfing the Web seeking something new and then it struck me to learn more about the iPhone x Animoji but then I came across something entirely new.
When I first got my Honor 8X, the only turn off I had was the fact that I won’t be enjoying the Qmoji on it.
Compared to Huawei Nova 3i which has the Qmoji software already shipped with the device, I picked the Honor 8X because of its size (although I now use Huawei Mate 20 X)
Anyway, long story short, I found an alternative application on Google Play store that could work almost as the Qmoji or even the Animoji.
The Emoji face Recorder. The name isn’t the best name I’m aware but well that’s what the company calls it anyway and it seems to explain what it’s all about.
When I first launched the application on my Huawei, I was required of some permissions before the app prompted a pop up begging me to pardon the speed of the animation because it uses my device’s CPU which translates to the faster my CPU can go, the better the application will work. Anyway, I agreed to their plea and then proceeded to the application and Wow it was an Animoji duplicate.

Not really that awesome in its entirety but I had to give credit to the fact that the developers made the solution to still track my face using the front camera and then quickly translate my facial expression in real time with the cartoons on the the screen, that was cool.
I tried almost all the characters they have. While some are premium because clicking on the required me to sign up for an account (but I never did), I liked the last one, a child face with big blue eyes.
As we all k ow, Android is an innovative operating system with millions of fun applications in the Google play store, its hard to neglect the fact that the Android platform has made a big impact in the mobile world every day since its introduction to the general public some 10 years ago.
This type of application will continue to get launched and they would be a superb alternative to existing solutions and that would be a really smart move.
Another example was Robin, a personal assistant I stumbled on at the Google play store. The application works almost like Siri. You can call it or just wave your hands across your device screen (it uses the ambient sensor to listen to wave movements).
The application will do virtually all virtual personal assistant tasks for you as though you are with a friend. Ask it question, make reservations, save events, navigate maps or launch Web addresses.
A these are good views of how far the Android platform had come and more application developers are joining the platform every week.
The Emoji Face recorder app is a really cool application and fun to toy around with if you’d like sending animated Emoji of yourself to you friends and families.
What is QMoji and Animoji anyway
This is a new age tech that allows you to create an animated 3d cartoon of yourself which you can record and then send over to your buddies. It’s all about fun.
Animoji got launched with the Apple’s recent CPY the Bionic 11 while QMoji started with Huawei flagship smartphones like the Mate 20 on its Kirin SoC.
All these technologies are great for messaging purposes and even for just virtual fun.
The Animoji and QMoji both uses facial motion tracking technologies to detect the movement of your face to give you the exact facial expression and movement right on your screen which can be recorded.
This Augmented Reality or AR is a new technology though not exclusively new to 2018 but its still getting better over time as more software developers are making better applications that works well with this.
Take beauty camera applications for example, these applications can detect your face and add up make over and even eye lenses, hats and other jewellery and accessories on your picture.
This is to show how advanced this technology had grown and the growth is what will affect its impact on camera usage in the near future.
Since augmented reality tech utilises real life scenes to add up animated or still objects using the device cameras. This could be great for businesses when they want to create products which can first be tested in an AR environment before being actually deployed to that exact location in actual reality.
So back to Emoji Face Recorder, this application can help you share the fun of the modern age technology without a hiccup.
I personally like it and I think there is room for improvements though the application is still in its early ages and considering the fact that it’s a third party application which has to integrate itself into an existing hardware, it is not a direct competitor to the likes of Animoji or QMoji that are built directly within the devices hardware so accuracy will definitely be different.
Chudo (Chumoji)
This the total resemblance of Apple’s own Animoji for Android. It mocks the look and feel of the application just that this is a standalone application that works on it’s own without being inbuilt within the default camera application like the others.
Also, Chudo does allow you to create a 3D emoji face of yourself in two ways. Either a complete 3D Emoji Face recorded or snapped or a 3D AR Emoji face placed right on top of your very own face. Either way, you have your face changed to whatever emoji face you select.
There are tons of emoji face that exists within the application. Some are locked based on subscription while the rest are unlocked and free to use.
You can record and share the recorded face with your friends on WhatsApp or save it to your device. Mind yyou, Chudo itself is like an IM requiring you sign up with your mobile number. If your friend uses the app, you can easily chat with them directly on the app using those emoji faces. Its fun all round.
Should you download Emoji Face Recorder app
Yes! If you’re an obsessive new age tech fanatics like myself. All you need to know is that your device CPU is very important to the speed and accuracy of the application.
But if you’re not really into all thing tech, then you might not need another third party app to bloat your android smartphone. Just stay cool and be with what you have already.
But in general, the application is great and I’d recommend it to those that want it.
