Samsung had newly introduced it’s second-generation security chip (S3FV9RR) for its smartphones today akin to Apple’s T2 as well as Google’s Titan M chips designed mainly to secure the boot process, parts of storage and mobile-based payments.
The company launched it first Secure Enclave chip back in February which was used in the Galaxy S20 Series later on. The new chip is certified with Common Criteria (CC) EAL 6+ security standard which makes it one of the most secure mobile solution out there.
With this level of security, important data such as e-passport and hardware cryptocurrency wallets can be safely said to be well secured.

The South Korean tech giant further said that the security chip can protect not just mobile payments but in fact protect cryptocurrency transactions as well. Below is the statement from the company.

In this era of mobility and contact-less interactions, we expect our connected devices, such as smartphones or tablets, to be highly secure so as to protect personal data and enable fintech activities such as mobile banking, stock trading and cryptocurrency transactions.

And what’s even more is that Samsung’s new chip also offer hardware-based root of Trust (RoT) which basically protects lower layers of software which includes booting process from malware attacks. The company further claim that this will help companies run proprietary applications without the fear of being attacked by cybercriminals.
The chip will also make it really hard to implement attacks such as reverse engineering, power glitches and laser attacks according to Samsung which further added that this new security solution will be available in the third-quarter of the current year (2020) and is expected to be featured in the upcoming Galaxy Note series.
