The news according to TimesofIndia had it that Reliance Jio requested local suppliers bump the production capacity in India in order to raise smartphone production to about 200 million units over the next two years. This is meant to further boost the India’s technology ambitions as well as creating a much competitive environment against Chinese manufacturers who sell devices in the country.
The company is said to be in talk with numerous domestic assemblers in order to make an extremely affordable version of its Jio Phone which is meant to run Android operating system and would cost as low as just US$54 (INR4,000).

This will further help users who can’t afford the highly priced smartphones sold in the country considering the economic situation of the country which demands the need for more individuals in the country to have a smartphone they can afford.
Jio had been able to raise billions of dollars from foreign companies like Google boosting the company’s telecommunication networks while it’s development of 5G networks is on the way.
