Once in a while, Honor goes over the to with a gigantic variant of it’s smartphone which is usually labelled the “Max” except for the Mate 20X. So it’s the Honor X10 Max this time around which is expected to be released by July end which is almost here in a matter of days and sport amazing specifications.
The gigantic smartphone is already making some headlines on Weibo or should I just say Honor is talking about it as well as giving hints about what to expect when the device finally get released one of the interesting specifications to expect from the Honor X10 Max would include a RGBW display panel.
What’s special about that is because while majority of the smartphones you’ll see in the market today sports an RGB display, the upcoming Honor X10 Max specification said it would have an RGBW screen whose inclusion is the “W” just to fine-tune the display capability of the device.
In the case of LCD displays with RGB color (Red Green and Blue) pixel arrangement produces white color because the three colors illuminates the color pixels to the max intensity but the inclusion of white color means that the device’s white color will be more natural than most devices out there.

While the RGBW color palettes would have been nice on an OLED panel, if the LCD panel is well built with FHD+ capability just as we’ve seen on the Honor X10 itself, then the white color on the X10 Max would be very natural and far more vibrant.
There is a teaser video which displays what to expect of the smartphone when it finally makes it to the market in a matter of weeks. The brightness which thanks to the white subpixel on the Honor X10 Max showed that the device would perform really well in broad day light as demonstrated in the video above.
The video showed the Honor X10 Max being used to take a picture under direct sunlight on the day of Summer Solstice (June 21) when the sunlight hit on Tropic of Cancer.
The vibrancy on the Honor X10 Max’s 7.09-inch display makes sense and was very visible and thanks to the large display size, content consumption such as gaming and media would be a breezy experience. Powering the device is a MediaTek Dimensity 5G chipset compared to the HiSilicon Kirin 820 powering the Honor X10 smartphone. More specifications to come on later on afterwards.
