This year so far, Samsung has been about the “Infinity-O” display which has been implemented on it’s mid-range flagship smartphones so far just as we saw it getting introduced on the Galaxy Note 10 series last summer.
The Galaxy A71 is another wonderful smartphone with really interesting features. Though I wouldn’t match it right up against the previously released Galaxy A70 which had more hardware features that I’d place in the high-mid-range spectrum.
Take the design of the new Galaxy A71 for example, it’s screen is a fully laminated AMOLED 6.7 -Inches display which is really great as well as protected with the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 but then moving to the back of the device you realize it’s made of plastic as well as the frame which might not be really interesting.
For that the back sort of drop the device’s design level to those of the olden Galaxy A30 and co. Okay seriously, a glass back and aluminium frame would have been great for a $470 worth smartphone.
But the insistence of Samsung to add up the rectangular camera module on it’s new devices seems to be the new trend which we’ll have to get used to this year after all.
There are literally 4 cameras at the back of the Galaxy A71. The main sensor being a massive 64 MegaPixel Wide angle lens with f/1.8, 26mm (wide), 1/1.7″, 0.8µm, PDAF the second sensor is a 12 MP, f/2.2, 13mm (ultrawide), 1.12µm the third one is a 5 MP, f/2.4, (wide), dedicated macro camera and lastly, we have another 5 MP, f/2.2, (wide), 1/5.0″, 1.12µm, depth sensor.
The camera setup is capable of recording 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30/240fps quality videos which is really superb. There is also a 32MP sensor at the front of the display that can record a 1080P@30FPS.
It has a nice 128 GB of internal storage that can be expanded to about 1TB using a MicroSD card. It also come intwo variants with the lowest being a 6GB RAM version and the second being 8GB of RAM.
The Galaxy A71 will make it to stores by the 31st of January 2020 which is a great way for Samsung to start the year with first, it’s mid-rangers and then we get to see the Galaxy S20 and the likes.
