If you’re scared that your body suddenly changed and your need for water became very high and serious, well you don’t need to be scared. Its kinda normal. Ask me how and why?
Consider:
In normal weathers which are usually cool and calm, the rate at which the body gets dehydrated is very low as a result of the weather temperature. The body utilises the exact amount of water needed for both digestion and excretion and other metabolism. Now, when the weather changes, based on the fact we generally have 2 major seasons here in Nigeria which are dry and wet seasons, normally, things get dried easily in harmattans and these results in quick dehydration. The body therefore needs more and excessive amount of water to be able to function well which is what the brain interprets as Thirst that comes more often.
In hot weather, it might be very advantageous to drink cooper water because this refreshes the throat and then stays quiet longer before getting used unlike normal waters that goes off quickly. Also to ensure that you help your body fight the weather, some protective measures would make sense. For example, wearing white clothes. Remember, white colors in the sunny weather of harmattan usually repel or at least reduce the rate of the heat of the sunlight. Wearing clothes like black in particular would absorb much heat that in opposite help dehydrates the body quickly.
So that’s the major reason why you drink more water during the hot weathers and less in cooler seasons or weathers. The body changes and reacts to changes quickly. And remember, always drink water whenever the body requests for it. This would help the body functionalities and things would just be normal like it should and protect yourself against the harsh sunshine.
Wanna experiment it yourself, you can then try opening your mouth and then breathing in the harmattan air into your throat and then you realise between a short moment, your entire mouthpart would go totally dry and then your lips and throat starts getting palish and thus dehydrated and so you need to rehydrate it by either secreting much saliva which you need water for it to reformulate. Therefore, the changes in the weather is a very important factir why you thirst this days unlike before.
