Xiaomi is trying to make it big by extending its wins from its Asian territory and straight up to the west. There has being an official announcement about the company partnering with Microsoft and tis includes cross-license and patent transfer agreement and the pre-installation of Skype and Microsoft Office on Xiaomi devices.
So as of September, Xiaomi’s newer devices such as Xiaomi Mi5, Mi Max and Mi 4S and other specs such as Redmi Note 3 and Redmi 3 will all come with the Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Skype all pre-packaged with the devices.
Xiaomi whis is already visible enough in China is seeking to expand its market value by growing straight into the west. As of last year, the mobile giant manufacturer sold about 70Million devices although the major share of the sales were in the Chinese environent, the maker still is a signifiacnt distribution partner for Microsoft. But as the case goes, Xiaomi is making things more exclusive as more patents are added. According to a spokesperson for the the Xiaomi company, he narrated to TechCruch that “Microsoft has sold Xiaomi nearly 1,500 hgh quality patents that read on a variety of technologies including wireless communications, video, cloud and multimeida. Xiaomi has being applying to acquiring and licensing patents.” He said.
If to do the maths, the up and coming Xiaomi’s Android set-top box which was developed closely with Google, and a patent deal with Qualcomm last year, this shows that the company is making a big ties with large North American corportations and this alliances are to improve the company’s visibility in the west anyway.
As of now, Xiaomi’s devices are being sold in around six countries in the world (Asia and Brazil in particular) Just like other giants like LG, Sony or Samsung, the Asian based company still won’t be desisting from its attempt to entering into the global market. A market expansion is going t help the company reach its annual sales target which it still struggles to meet up with as of now.
