There is an option to block people but how about the option to be able to mute a chat forever on WhatsApp? Yeah, that might soon be possible as the company is said to have begun experimenting with the “Always Muted” option for chats according to WABetaInfo.
The development of the new feature is said to still be in the testing phase and will likely replace the current option which is the “1 year” mute option for a chat with an individual.
Meanwhile the currently available option to mute a chat can only last for a period of either eight hours, a week or a year.

Based on the screenshot taken by the WABetaInfo, the option will be placed at the bottom of the other options where you can just click to get a chat muted forever.

If for example you are in a group chat maybe for work or a project whereby users can always have some quick chat about ways to go about tasks and so forth, the fact remains that most times, when a message isn’t directed at you, you still get an alert about the conversation which can really be annoying but how about being able to just mute the conversation altogether which is where the 1 year mute comes in at least of you’re not the admin and doesn’t want to be aware of every single conversation people are having.
Depending on how long you’ll be at the chat group, that will determine that if you even set the mute for a year, you’ll be required to re-mute the conversation when the first one is eventually over. But you can just click once and never have to worry anylonger about having to mute an annoying conversation every year.
Although this might not be a super huge improvement to the WhatsApp notification interface or what have you but at least, it enhances the users’ experience which is what is much more important.
Another cool thing which WhatsApp could also announce includes the ability to use the same phoen number across an array of multiple devices as well as there won’t be an expiring messages which usually disappears after a certain period of time.
