Earlier on, we thought Samsung is done with the Galaxy Fold series but that seems to not be the case as new reports has it the company might be already working on the second generation of the original Galaxy Fold which was launched last year.
The Galaxy Z Flip is a great piece of hardware but had also disappointed in some areas making us wonder if Samsung is lying about the fact that the device is really protected by the so-called “Ultra-thin glass” which got scratched by JerryRigEverything during his durability test.
But that’s not the case. This is obviously a new technology that has a very long way to go and that demands that early adopters be patient and not expect the omni-perfect folding smartphone just yet. So for the Galaxy Fold 2, there are new claims from different trusted sources that Samsung wants to perform some really interesting tech innovations on the device by reinventing the “Under display” camera module to the device which we once saw on the Redmi concept device last year.
While there isn’t anything just official yet, the sources claims that the Galaxy Fold 2 could be announced by Q3 2020. One of the sources even specified that time to being July. Pricing isn’t confirmed but it’ll definitely follow in the steps of it’s predecessor in the $2000 price-point and it will have a slightly bigger 7.7-inch display when it’s unfolded.
Parts of the report has it that the device will have under-display camera which means no ugly overbearing notches on the device’s display and no hole-punch as well just as we’ve recently on Samsung devices released this year.
May have an under panel camera sensor too meaning no hole. May or may not have UTG. Have to boost UTG capacity in Vietnam…

UTG means (Ultra Thin Glass) technology will make it to the new Fold because the factory in Vietnam would have to boost its production capacity to meet the demand and also make interestingly more strong UTG which can’t be pilled by finger nails.
