The newest inclusion to the EMUI 11 from Huawei is the useful feature “Earthquake Warning” which is a reminiscent of the one featured on the Xiaomi’s MIUI 11. The feature will not be made international at least not for now but only limited to Huawei users in the Sichuan province of China which is a region that had experience multiple earthquakes for many years now.
The essence of this feature is to help keep people abreast on what is to come. Much like a weather forecast with predictions based on data gotten from a reliable source.
The EMUI which is currently the latest update from the Chinese largest smartphone maker was released back in September at its Developer Conference 2020 (HDC2020) where the company also unveiled a number of software services which will added to its ecosystem to further strengthen the Huawei software services.
Huawei further promised to add some of the Android 11 features on the EMUI 11 update on devices that supports them before the HarmonyOS are finally ported in with some devices by the year 2021.

The initial release of the EMUI 11 missed the Video Alarm and Earthquake Warning features but will now be included even though its limited only to some regions in China.
With the new EMUI 11 being ported to a stable build, Huawei smartphone users in China whose devices support the new update are said to have started sharing the functionalities of the “Earthquake Warning” feature on Weibo, one of China’s biggest microblogging platform much like Twitter in the US.
So if you or any relative reside in the Sichuan province, you can enable the feature by heading to the Settings > Security > Emergency Warning Notification > Earthquake Warning. When this feature is turned on, the phone will notify you whenever there is an earthquake nearby.
Also the Video Alarm feature basically allow you to call the police in the cases of emergency. This feature is also limited to the Guangdong Province which is meant to help people keep in smooth touch with law enforcement agencies in the cases of emergency.
Huawei as we know is constantly working on to upgrade its portfolio of amazing products and services which isn’t limited to smartphones and computers only as the company has now embraced software services including its Huawei Video and Huawei Music services which are paid services.
