The OnePlus 8 smartphone is going to be another interesting smartphone when released and yeah, we’ll be expecting it to be like that. The device is poised at offering really smooth user experience and the CEO made it known the company will achieve this by offering great improvement to both the software and hardware components of the device to offer the best experience ever.
According to the CEO, Peter Lau in a forum made couple of interesting posts about the improvement that the company’s R&D team built for the upcoming OnePlus 8 series of smartphones.
The devices will be powered by the Snapdragon 856 Chipset which is obviously the peak of the Snapdragon chipset as of now powering up premium-level smartphones such as the Galaxy S20 Ultra and others in it’s rank.

Another improvement will come with the chip promising about 25% increase in CPU and GPU performance which will reduce power usage by at least a quarter so if you’re already drooling over this device, don’t worry, it will be power efficient even for video encoder and DSP.

Another interesting upgrade we’ll see on the OnePlus 8 will be the RAM which will be an LPDDR5 peaking a speed of 6,400Mbps right from 4,266Mbps which was found on the LPDDR4X RAM used on the OnePlus 7T Pro device. And it uses 45% less power compared to previous standards (presumably, Lau is talking about the even older LPDDR4 here).
Also, the OnePlus 8 Pro will use the UFS 3.0 storage just as the case of the OnePlus 7 and 7T series and it promises a read and write speed of about 1,700MB/S which is a definitely tipping point for the new device.
Turbo Write will use the upper portion of the storage as a fast read/write buffer. Host Performance Booster will improve random read performance “after extended use”.

Peter Lau also said that good Hardware won’t just make the device better this time around but also optimizing the software of the device and “only adding the features that truly matter to you”.
Other interesting features to come with the OnePlus 8 series is the fast 5G connectivity it will offer as well as a smooth 120Hz refresh rate on it’s display even though rumors has it the feature will only be limited to the OnePlus 8 Pro devices but until April 14th, when we’ll be able to officially confirm this features and interesting functionalities.
