Its suspected that Sony might be reworking it’s PlayStation 4 game console so as to be able to output a 4K graphics for games. According to a report gotten from Kotaku, the plans for the upgrade of the PS4 was briefed to developers. Although the availability of such upgrade isn’t announced as of yet or how it will be priced and sold but its suggested that such could take place the coming year or after.
If such upgrade can be achieved, there will be need for a stronger graphical compatibility which will be different from the present PS4. According to the reports, Kotaku also stated that the upgrade which is now somewhat a PS4.5 based on the references made by Developers will include both an upgrade in its processor and Graphic Processing Unit GPU. These two processors will be much needed to output a 4K graphics which requires a more than it takes to display a game at 1080P. (The current PS4 supports 4K photos and videos, but not games.)
This type of attempt hasn’t been a very common trend in the game console development industry but though it will be an incredible attempt to change the way we experience gaming.
TV sets are currently transitioning to 4K — more affordable 4K sets are starting to make their way on the market, and we’re not too many years away from most new models being 4K.
