We’ve seen the likes of Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge + and we all loved them as they were all awesome in every ways.
What would be a better compliment than an upgrade of the amazing Galaxy S series smartphone.
And since we all knew how powerful Samsung is in the Mobile phone manufacturing market then no one would doubt them a bit to offer some Wacky. Samsung then surprised us by making this and we’re trying to love it.
Me as person, i’m already in love with it. We’ve got too many phones in the market and it’s very hard to select who wins it and in most cases, the giants always go head straight for the badges without any doubt.

The new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are examples of the good receptions big manufacturers have over the smaller ones such as Huawei for example.
Let’s not talk about comparison yet but I can’t but mention the amazing upgrade Huawei has on it’s new Huawei Honor 8.
Cheaper and faster but again, Samsung came to triumph over the Honor 8 because unlike the latter, The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge has a better battery which is way better than Huawei Honor 8.
LG G5 would have being a better match but LG blew it and they didn’t come on strong enough this year enough.
But how or what makes the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge an amazing smartphone which you should consider buying this year?
It’s got the totality of lavished designs, cool battery and speed. Well thats not all but while handling the Samsung Galaxy S7, it’s lightweight was an extraordinary feature which made the phone a cool gadget to hold in the hand without feeling a little bothered.
You won’t wanna forget that this a 5.1 inches HD smartphone. That said, it’s clean slate format makes it’s design very outstanding.
When Samsung invented the Edge series of their Galaxy S series, we thought it wasn’t going to make much difference but most times, you’re just proved way wrong.
The amazing Galaxy S7 was a very great smartphone which is way better than it’s predecessors.
In case you’re bothered about the stories going about Samsung sartphones bursting into flames, don’t be, it’s not the Galaxy S7 because it’s got a better technology making it work better unlike the Ggalaxy Note 7 which cost Samsung a good reputation this year alone.
Ever since the reception of the Samsung Galaxy S it has being the flagship device for the South Korean tech giant and had since being a major user of the Android OS from Google.
Well let’s stop praising Samsung and focus on the phone. As far as Nigeria is concerned, this phone is a very popular trend among everyone who can afford the expensive phone.
Although there is this popular believe that Samsung Phones don’t usually have “second hand” values.
You can’t possibly see Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge yet on Jiji.ng yet because it’s pretty expensive. But since that isn’t a very important factor to everyone, then we can say the phone’s worth the price.
What about it’s amazing camera and powerful battery which compliments the entire feature.
Assuming you are the traveller who go about on both interstate and international journeys, then you might have gotten yourself a new buddy which fits well in your hand in every ways.
Bloatware’s issue might not be what you hope for since that is a bad part of the Samsung Galaxy S7. Unnecessary consumption of 8GB of memory space doesn’t make a total sense.
But considering it’s other features such as the Always On feature might be an advantage also although it’s battery friendliness isn’t certain but Samsung officially assured this.
When the device gets damaged, you’re going to be likely spending lots of money repairing this uneasy to repair phone.
Down part include destruction of the screen while attempting to replace a broken USB port. In a word, you might wanna protect it.
As expected, the S7 is water and dust resistance. With a better hardware which makes that possible, then you might not have to worry too much about the issue of carelessness.
Also, the S7 still follows the S6’s replaceable micro SD memory card. That isn’t available on iPhone devices right from day one and we are not surprised. But in a nutshell, this is a very good phone.

The Hardware and Design are both top notch
As usual, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are both in slate format. With a dimension of 142.4 mm (5.61 in) H 69.6 mm (2.74 in) W 7.9 mm (0.31 in) for the Galaxy S7 model and then a 150.9 mm (5.94 in) H 72.6 mm (2.86 in) W 7.7 mm (0.30 in) for the Galaxy S7 Edge model.
That makes the Galaxy S7 Edge to be slightly bigger than it’s S7 counterpart. Both the S7 and S7 Edge feature a 1440p Super AMOLED display; the S7 has a 5.1-inch panel, while the S7 Edge uses a larger 5.5-inch panel. Each of these devices has a different weight of
- S7: 152 g (5.4 oz)
- S7 Edge: 157 g (5.5 oz)
The differences in their weight isn’t very significant but the dimension and the design of the both devices are different.
The Edge model has a curved out side while the normal model doesn’t have this design. Samsung promised this had so many advantages especially to the end users.
There are so many characteristics of the hardware design of the Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphone. It’s slim physical appearance is a very outstanding design which takes it quite farther from Apple’s iPhone 7 which had at a point caused a serious feud between the two tech giants.
Samsung now becoming the owner of it’s own design is a very outstanding improvement from the company and that’s what we all wanted.
The device as all other Samsung phones features a physical button at the base of the front of the phone with two touchpads on both sides of the button .
The phone look quite similar to it’s predecessor the Galaxy S6 but the little difference of it’s uncurved home button and a thinner protrusion for the camera makes the phone look quite different from the old model.
At the top of the screen is the earpiece location and the usual sensors; the Multicoloured LED also present. Going around the phone, the side consists of the power button and the volume keys.
The rear back is where you can perform all other things such as battery replacement etc. The base of the phone is where the Speaker, Earphone port and it’s USB port is located.
Since the completion of the Samsung’s Exynos, its’s being deployed all around their phones made after the development.
The same exists in the situation of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. The S7 and S7 Edge are IP68-certified for dust and water resistance; unlike the Galaxy S5, the ports are sealed and thus do not require protective flaps.
This gives anyone the chance of using the phone in almost any condition. For example, accidental drops of water on the phone cannot damage the phone so easily.
That being a good feature which the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are packed up with. S7 & S7 Edge’s water resistance capacity makes it very ideal phone for an average African who gets caught up in the rain or extremely dusty situations without the chance of escaping it.
While that might sound as a joke, the reality is that it’s the truth. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge both have a very awesome chassis design which is so incredibly crafted out to lead in every ways in the mobile market.
Thetwo phones includes either a 32 or 64 GB of internal storage (in most markets only the 32 GB model will be available).
Storage can be expanded using a microSD card up to 132 GB all depending how much memory you need but no matter how large the spaces are, the device’s processor can handle any big data manipulation and still deliver it well. A very special aspect which makes the phone an outstanding product from Samsung.

Powered by Android OS 6.0 (Software and CPU)
Our amazing Samsung galaxy S7 and S7 Edge both run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. With a faster processor, I expected a totally fast handling of requests.
For example, multitasking and still retaining each application in their states is parts of the good thing we’ve noted on the Galaxy S7.
To better explain that, the break down is that the two devices are both running on an octa-core Exynos 8890 system-on-chip and 4 GB of RAM.
In China and the United States, the S7 uses the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820; unlike Exynos, this SoC supports older CDMA networks that are extensively used by carriers in these markets.
In the Nigerian market, the phone supports all carriers such as MTN, GLO, Etisalat and Airtel. All which have being made based on market variations.

This is our take on the Infinix Note 4
It’s 2017 and Infinix Note 4 becomes the upgrade of the older Infinix Note 3 which we expected to be the next big thing in the Infinix Note series but well, we have written all we’ve seen about the device together in this post article.

iPhone 7 Plus: Brilliant gadget but expensive
Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus is a massive phablet that comes packed with full premium features. Although expensive in comparison to others, it’s amazing battery life is worth it all and it’s hidden features are what we crave for

Infinix Note 3 is a cool cheap Android phone
Infinix Note 3 is a very cool phone that is packed with some good feature at relatively low price. Considering it’s 4500mAH battery capacity, one could expect some really nice upgrade from the previous version of the phone

All we know about the Huawei Honor 8
Huawei is well known in Nigeria and we can boldly compare their awesome phones with the likes of Itel smartphones, Tecno and Infinix all being the top tiers in the Nigeria mobile market. With the launch of many successful devices such the Mate S and Honor 7, Huawei is definitely an amazing mobile phone company […]
Unless you buy the phone from either China or US; will you have some difficulties migrating it to support the Nigerian communication providers.
These two phones are both equip with the Samsung’s TouchWiz which is a special parts of the Samsung Galaxy’s newest trend.
Parts of the feature that is also available on the new gadget is it’s “Always On” feature which is a way of allowing the screen to turn on infinitely.
Core applications such as the Clock, Calendar and Notification are always on the Standby. Do you think the phone is dumb enough not to detect your pocket while it’s turned on the standby functions?
Well, the device’s proximity sensor detects whenever the phone is enclosed space such as a pocket.
Samsung on their part said that this feature would only consume half a percentage of battery capacity per-hour.So do not worry too much if you fear losing your battery when there isn’t electricity.
New widget panes can be displayed on the edge of the S7 Edge, in “Edge Single” and wider “Edge Single Plus” sizes. Android Marshmallow’s “adopted storage” feature was disabled by Samsung and is not usable for any user.
Initially Samsung wanted to brag that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be the first device to supports the all new Vulkan 1.0 low rendering API on the launch day but we all got disappointed because Samsung didn’t surprise us as they’ve claimed since they’re possibly not the first one to incorporate the new feature.
Although they didn’t disappoint us completely because the feature eventually arrive about half a year later.
With it’s big screen, you can ave a lovely time watching videos, playing games or writing text notes and surfing the internet is a very fast part of the phone.

Cameras shoots clear photographs
Both at the front and at the back, there exists two cameras which captures clean images even in a low light room.
For example, both the S7 and S7 Edge features Samsung’s ISOCELL S5K2L1 or Sony Exmor R IMX260 12 MP(1.4 µm), f/1.7 aperture with fast Dual Pixel autofocus Technology, and can record a 4K video at 30 fps, 1080p at 60 fps, 720p at 240 fps.
This is a very special thing. The front camera is a good point for Selfie takers. With it’s cool 5 MP, you can also make video calls over 3 G or 4 G networks.
Although there is an issue with the video recorded in high frames as they’re always found stuttering. Even the models that uses the Samsung’s own Exynos or Snapdragon Processing units all have this issues.
The problem is more common in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820-processor, which are sold in the United States, and even the latest software updates for the phone has failed to fix the problem and that might be a big deal to those that want to use the phone to perform bigger task such as 4K video recording.

Battery Performances is above average
Battery performance is quite okay although Samsung didn’t try to impress in this field.
Considering how powerful the device is, then packaging it with a more powerful battery for better longevity might be a good idea.
Although we can’t forget about the case with the Samsung galaxy Note 7 which explodes after it’s battery heats up. While that shouldn’t be a serious concern since it’s being taken care of, a 4000mAh battery such the type in the Huawei’s Mate 8 might be a good bet. But all the same, the S7 still holds a balanced degree in battery maintenance.

Some detriments the battery might have although which Samsung defended not to be a big deal is the issue with the “Always on” functionality.
While you’re always around the globe moving around, you might need the phone turned on for change in calendar or timezone or the display of your loved one might be a good thing for you.
In other aspects such as playing games such as Modern Combat, the battery lifespan gets reduced to as :::::::::::::::::::::://
Generally, the battery performance is still okay enough for those of us who don’t stress our phones that much but depending on your own choice or wants, the needs for a better battery might be what we hope for in the next S8 probably.
As far as Nigeria is concerned, the S7 battery is still a sure bet in performances and that is good enough for the phone as it compliments the expenses during it’s purchase.
Price in Nigeria
Very expensive. The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is sold from ₦185,920 NGN to ₦200,000 NGN. That might be because of the Naira to Dollar decrease.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge
Our Take
The phone so far is a big success to Samsung. We all know that during the days of the Samsung Galaxy S3, the entire world knew how awesome Samsung was but again, the S7 sold about approximately 100,000 devices were sold within two days of the official launch in South Korea.
With a very awesome feature such as faster processor, micro SD and the water and dust resistance, all these are the lags of the S5 which was quite disappointing to everyone.
As said earlier, processing units is very important to the success of phones.
The Samsung’s Exynos is a bigger deal compared to the Qualcomm Snapdragon which is a little slower in some aspects such as multitasking.
A good example would be with switching between applications. the Exynos chip keeps applications running on the background while they can be switched on and then continued with ease while the Snapdragon version simply kills applications in some cases based on memory usage for better performances in the default running applications. Restarting the killed applications might not be a best bet for those who like multitasking their phone.
Repairing or replacing a damaged USB port can be a serious disaster as some parts of the phone needs to be destroyed as they’re not easy to remove based on the extensive usage of glues by Samsung.
Also, replacing the glass without destroying it is totally impossible especially for an inexperienced engineer and at an expense of $270 (official) to purchase the screen, you might not want it damaged pretty soon.

Bloatware on the system has been criticized, as it takes 8GB of storage that cannot be used for other applications.
Verizon bloatware includes the app DT Ignite that installs more bloatware on first boot. Carrier variants are attributed to this case although ordinary versions still include the case with bloatware. If you purchase an S7, don’t just think it’s 100% awesome.
Another case is with the issue of Water resistance. Some consumers still complains that the issue with the water resistance capacity isn’t entirely true based on a bad batch of phones but Samsung make the offer that phones that failed the water resistance test be replaced.
In case you already have this issue, you can change it for a better version which now feature a completely reliable water resistance functionality.
