Xiaomi is all out again with its mid-range Redmi Note 11 series which consist of three models all of which offer a top-level specification with visually pleasing design aesthetics.
The previous Redmi Note 10 Pro offers some pretty impressive features such as a high refresh rate, a big battery, and lots of storage options coupled with the great 108MP primary sensor all for a US$300 price point.
And the new Redmi Note 11 Pro is obviously a great device but Xiaomi took things a little bit to the extreme by adding the highest variant called the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ which of course has all the features.
In terms of design, the trio looks very similar while the camera module looks pretty similar to the current Redmi Note 10 series.

The device now sports a boxy frame as we’ve seen on iPhone 12 and 13 series but with a hole-punch front-facing camera cut out which further makes the device’s design unique in every way possible.
Below is a short spec sheet comparing all the three Redmi Note 11 series to one another.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 series Design
The trio looks very similar to one another in every way possible. One confusing difference between the devices is the camera module.
The base Redmi Note 11 has a triple rear setup with a 108MP primary sensor while the slightly higher Redmi Note 11 Pro has a quad rear camera module but with a stepped-down 64MP primary sensor.
Lastly, there is the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus with a triple rear setup while the 108MP makes its final return.
In other areas, the device looks pretty similar. The upgraded Note 11 Pro and the Note 11 Pro+ both have glass body sandwiched to the plastic frames of the device while the base model is full of plastic.
The base model has an IP53 rating which makes it splash and dust resistant. Other noticeable designs of the devices include the placement of the fingerprint sensor which is placed by the side while it retained other ports like USB-C and a 3.5mm jack.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 series Display
Not so different from the current Redmi Note 10 Pro. The base Redmi Note 11 comes with a 6.6-inch IPS LCD panel with a Full HD+ resolution and a whopping 90Hz refresh rate while the upgraded versions come with a slightly bigger 6.67-inch AMOLED panel and a blazing-fast 120Hz refresh rate.
As usual, I’m a big fan of OLED displays and it’s very generous of Xiaomi to continue adding this up on their mid-range smartphones. This is something I’d be impressed with if brands like Huawei can start doing this.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 series Hardware/Software
All three devices are using the MediaTek Dimensity chipset. The base Redmi Note 11 comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset while the Note 11 Pro and Note 11 Pro+ feature a faster Dimensity 930 5G chipset with multiple storage options ranging from 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage all the way up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
There is also support for an external microSD slot to expand the device’s storage to whatever you’d want it to be.
Out of the box, the device runs the current MiUI 12.5 based on Android 11 OS but there should be a high possibility of getting an upgrade to the next-gen Android 12 OS.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 series Camera
Not so much has changed here as well. Two out of the three devices make use of the big 108MP sensor while the mid-Redmi Note 11 Pro has a 65MP primary sensor.
The devices all feature a telephoto lens and a macro sensor. The base model also sports a 16MP selfie camera just like the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ but the odd one out of the three is the mid-child, Redmi Note 11 Pro with a 13MP selfie camera.
One thing for sure is that the size of the megapixel doesn’t determine the camera output so don’t be fooled by the numbers.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 series Battery
All devices feature a big battery to juice up the device so you can enjoy the cool camera and create memories with it.
The high refresh rate also means a bigger battery in order to be able to power the big AMOLED panels.
However, there is a compromise right here – the base model, Redmi Note 11 comes with a bigger 5,160mAh Li-Po battery which can be charged with the company’s blazing-fast 67W charger.
Then there is the mid Note 11 Pro with a slightly smaller 5,000mAh battery with the same 67W fast charging while the high-end Redmi Note 11 Pro+ comes with a…smaller battery. 4,500mAh for all those 120Hz refresh rates and a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel.
That’s a very unfair disadvantage. Although the device compensates with a very fast 120W super-fast charger to make up for things, however, a 4,500mAh battery is still a big deal for smartphones released in 2021 so don’t get pissed.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 series Price
And lastly, the price tag. The base Redmi Note 11 is expected to come with a US$187 price tag while the mid-Redmi Note 11 Pro will come with a US$257 price tag and then the high-end Redmi Note 11 Pro+ will come with a US$304 price tag.
Xiaomi sort of spread out things on this device making the purchase decision of some consumers difficult.
In my opinion, I’d opt for the high-end Note 11 Pro+ which has all the features and the blazing-fast charging capacity. It also has a powerful 120Hz AMOLED panel and a 108MP primary sensor. It also comes with the Dimensity 920 chipset with 5G network support.
