What do think about a foldable smartwatch. It’ll be interesting. That’s what Oppo is trying to do as the company announced its making its own smartwatch to be released during this first quarter, 2020.
So by the end of March, we might be seeing the launch of an Oppo smartwatch with a quite unusual hardware features. Reports has it that the smartwatch will have a rectangular or square dial which is going to be similar to the Xiaomi Mi Watch.
According to a post the Vice President of the company made last year on Weibo about the same time which the Mi Watch was released as it looked very similar to the Apple Watch Series 5, the VP dissed the similarities between both devices which raised some comments on the Chinese social network platform.

Meanwhile Oppo’s top executives have later confirmed that a rectangular dial is much better than a circular one as it can display information in a better way.

But as for design aesthetics, he reiterated that a circular design is better as it mocks the look and feel of an actual wristwatch.
But a new leak from Digital Chat Stations has made it known that the OPPO smartwatch will be able to measure ECG/EKG with which an owner will be able to carry out test and see if their heart has any abnormalities or irregular rhythm which is a more advanced feature that not only measure the heart rate but also examine it against abnormalities.
With such technology in place, the OPPO Smartwatch will definitely be up to the likes of Apple Watch Series 5 or the Galaxy Active 2 which are high end smartwatches with the ECG technology built in them.
Even though ECG is a great thing to have on a modern smartwatch, the OPPO Smartwatch will still need to have other interesting features that can make it outstanding and more competitive which will definitely help move it up on the ranks of smartwatches on the market.
There’s no official time for the launching though but it is likely to be announced with the OPPO Find X2 which could be announced this first quarter of 2020.
