The sales of the new OnePlus 8 Pro began officially on the April 29th (2020) but the company had earlier shipped units to buyers who had ade pre-orders with some of those units having issues with their display with a set of problems ranging from crushed/clipped blacks and even a “green tint” according to reports.
The company had responded by promising to push an OTA which will help in fixing the issues with the Oxygen OS 10.5.5 update being the operating system shipped with the OnePlus 8 Pro units and only fixed the “green tint” issue.
OnePlus is said to have already confirmed the black crush display issue which is related to the hardware of the device. According to a Reddit post, a user revealed that the company is therefore giving user facing this issue options to either get the device fixed, replaced or refunded entirely. But they needed to first send in the device for repairs at the service centre. Buyer may also return the device and get a refund. Finally, they could submit a replacement request on the website and get a replacement.

But the authenticity of this claim is yet to be verified but it this is true, it will definitely be a great news for those customers who are facing the issues. As it is, most people would probably prefer a replacement for the device as the new device costs about US900 which is a truly premium price to pay to acquire one of the high-end flagship to be released this year so far.
