Since the release of the iPhone 12 series, many have had this notion that flagship smartphones might not ship with power bricks anylonger and for real, devices like the Xiaomi Mi 11 and the Galaxy S21 series all came without one but those aren’t the only flagship smartphones in 2021 and the question as to if OnePlus 9 series will also have follow this move might have been clarified by the company’s boss.

With the device’s release date scheduled to March 23rd at 10AM ET, the OnePlus 9 series is expected to come with a charging brick out of the box so expect a big box rather than the slimmer package Apple sent the iPhone 12 series in.

This important revelation was made known by the company’s founder and CEO Peter Lau who stated this via a comment on the OnePlus community forum.

The CEO made a post just last week which was a teaser giving a couple of details about the release of the OnePlus 9 series as well as the company’s partnership with camera maker Hasselblad.

In that post, a user had commented, “New phones launch WITHOUT CHARGERS”.

To this, Pete has replied, “Don’t worry about it. We have the charger inside the box.” This info falls in line with earlier leaks and unless there’s any new tech, the devices should ship with a 65W Warp charger inside the box.

With this confirmed, you can be rest assured that you’ll still be getting your smartphone charger without needing to purchase an extra one or the one that’s not compatible with the device’s charging speed.

Just like the Vivo, OPPO, realme, the OnePlus devices come with a trademarked “Warp charging” and they are proprietary solutions for fast charging on OnePlus smartphones.

Support for wireless charging and the retention of the Warp charging branding might just be some of the reasons the company is still holding on to power bricks within the device’s box however, we wouldn’t know what will happen next year.

As per reports, OnePlus will release the 9 series and it will come in three variant as well as releasing a smartwatch called the OnePlus Watch. The variants of the OnePlus includes: OnePlus 9, 9 Pro, 9R and the smartwatch will be called the OnePlus Watch.

The partnership with Hasselblad is expected to help the company enhance its camera capabilities. The OnePlus 9 Pro is expected to have a quad-camera setup with a custom-made Sony IMX789 sensor which cold be 48MP panoramic camera with 140 degrees FOV.
