Motorola seems to have left the premium flagship market for brands like Samsung and Apple while it continues to release entry-level devices among which is the Moto G lineup.
The newest kid on the block is the newly announced US$160 Moto G Pure which will reportedly be powered by MediaTek Helio G25 chipset with an Octa-core CPU.
The device will also sport 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded via a MicroSD of about 512GB.
As for the display, it’s a 6.5-inch IPS TFT LCD panel with 720 resolution all of which further explains why the price of the device is so low.

Motorola Moto G series continues to be a battery powerhouse and that is where the Moto G Pure also comes in since it’ll be getting about a 4,000mAh battery which will also charge pretty quickly via USB Type-C.
It has an IP52 rating for water splashes and much like other entry-level devices, it retains the 3.5mm headphone jack which seems to only be available on affordable smartphones nowadays.
In the camera department, you get a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor to make up for a dual setup. There is also going to be a bright LED flash.
Upfront will be a smaller 5MP selfie camera. The device will be able to capture HD video at 30 fps.
There is no support for things like NFC, 5G, and other things you might find on devices that are priced within the US$500 price range. The device will also run Android 11 out of the box but there could be support for an upgrade to Android 12 in the future.
Pre-orders for the Moto G Pure will start as early as Oct. 14th and the device will be offered by Verizon at no extra cost to those that sign for the new smartphone.
There are no words about the global release of the device just yet but it should certainly make it to markets in Asia, Europe, and maybe Africa.
