Last year, Microsoft had a dream of changing teleconferencing band business meeting but the dream couldn’t be realised because of the delays in production of it’s Surface Hub which is the device to become the future of business meeting. But as of Yesterday, The Surface Hub is now fully ready to entire world. According to an official announcement, its said that the shipping is now taking place with Windows 10 being its main source of power. The Surface Hub come in two sizes. There is a 55 Inches and 84 inches while the larger is a 4K. They cost $8,999 and $21,999 respectively.

Big bucks = Big productivity?

Don’t think of the Surface Hub as a mere big screen fastened against the wall of an office’s conference room because it supports a 100 points of touch input and also has digital pens. There is a Core i5/i7 computer inside with a 128GB SSD and 8GB of RAM. The version with the largest screen supports Nvidia Quadro graphics. There is also Bluetooth and NFC as well as a dual Webcam with noise-cancellation microphones which is also built-in to the bezel for better teleconferencing.

So those features might come with their prices. Microsoft on the other hand hopes the display can function as the “Hub” of business conferences and meetings. Its a screen for PowerPoint Presentations. Its a whiteboard for note-taking and brainstorming. It’s a teleconferencing setup.

In addition to traditional meeting rooms, Microsoft says companies have already found a home for the Surface Hub not just in conference rooms, but also “factory floors, lecture halls, hospitals, and executive offices and boardrooms.” Powerful, flexible screens like this might some day replace the “Smart TVs” of today, but only when the price comes down to something in the $2,000 range.
