Priced at a big $1,530, the device is already up for pre-ordering via Samsung’s official website as well as other selected stores throughout the country. While the South Korean tech giant didn’t reveal how many units of the Z Flip were sold in India, it did say that pre-bookings are on hold and will re-open soon.

The Galaxy Z Flip is a highend Android 19 smartphone that Samsung claimed has the newly developed UTG (Ultra Thing Glass) technology which is a mysteriously thin glass layers on top of the display. The last time Jerry Rig Everything did a tear down of the Galaxy Z Flip, it was revealed that the covering of the device is still plastic but the OLED display is layered with the UTG which isn’t really effective tor ruining the display as he tries to tear off the plastic protection film on top of the display that led to a mid-uproar about the authenticity of the so-called UTG.
But anyway, the Galaxy Z Flip has a high power using the Snapdragon 855+ chipset and then 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The display is a massive 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED display which is foldable with a resolution of 2636 x 1080 pixels.
It also features a three cameras total setup – a 10MP snapper on the inside and two 12MP units on the outside. We’ve not gotten out review units yet but within weeks we’ll post our review of the Galaxy Z Flip. In the meantime, do note that this is still a fragile device you can’t afford to let in debris or sands to rub on the screen as it would scratch the plastic film covering the display.
