By the 11th of next month March, Samsung’s smartwatch Gear S2 Classic 3G will be unveiled to the public. Although there have been some leads about the watch earlier today but Samsung have increased its information about the device which is also scheduled for launch during the Annual Mobile World Congress expo which would start next week 22ND of February right in Barcelona, Spain.
As at now, there hasn’t been any pricing information as Samsung is leaving the specific versions up go AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.
The smartwatch is quiet notable for its being the first device in the market to come packaged with VSMA’s new embedded e-SIM specification which would mean that this device would work with any of those carriers earlier mentioned without you removing v the card right in it.

The Gear S2 Classic 3G comes with a 1.2-inch circular AMOLED display, a dual-core 1GHz processor, and about two days of battery life, accoding to what Samsung had said. The device runs Tizen (Samsung made OS) and comes with 4GB of storage and 512MB of memory.

No word on pricing for the Gear S2 Classic 3G

The Samsung Gear S2, wouldn’t be the fist device with a programmable SIM card anyway but the new e-SIM specification would make it a new achiever since it’s backed with powerful carriers which makes it more important for consumers.

“We don’t want the consumer to be disadvantaged compared to the current SIM model,”

“We’re putting the first specification out for companies that may want to launch products that are very simple.”

GSMA’s chief engineer Ian Pannell told The Verge in a brief interview with him.

Another noticeable look is that the eSIM is much tinier than standard SIM cards based on what Panell had said. So we look forward to seeing what the Gear S2 have to offer as Samsung prep for Barcelona 2016 come next month March 11th.
