The Galaxy A71 is a pretty decent mid-range smartphone from Samsung and sold pretty well in 2020 which is probably why the company gave it the attention it needed. The device is now getting a new Android update with the OneUI 2.5 skin built on top of it.
The initial release announcement made by Samsung over the One UI 2.5 is that it will only be available on the Galaxy S series, Note series, Galaxy Tab S series and Galaxy Z series but the company seems to have an exception which is where the Galaxy A71 comes in so it’s unclear maybe the entire Galaxy A line up will also get the update as well.
But it’s worth noting that the version that the Galaxy A71 will be getting isn’t going to be bring all the high-end features seen on the Galaxy S and Note series but instead some security patches as well as additional software improvement to tweak up the device’s user interface to match up with the latest version of the Android OS.
To be more precise, some of the features users will be getting includes the “Network Quality information Display” which shows the speed of Wi-Fi connection then there is the “Request Password” feature which requests for Wi-Fi password from a nearby connected user who is in the user’s contact list and there is also support for Bitmoji stickers on AOD as well as YouTube search via the Samsung keyboard and there is support for split keyboard in landscape mode just like the advanced keyboard app; SwiftKey. There is also SOS feature in Messages application which sends location information to selected contacts for every 30 minutes over the next 24 hours.

As mentioned above, the new upgrade brings you the October 2020 security patch as well as having the firmware A715FXXU3ATI8. It is currently being rolled out in batches globally and therefore, it may take time to reach your device.
