Europe now officially the second region after the Latin America to surpass a huge 250,000 deaths related to the COVID-19 pandemic according to report from Reuters on Saturday.
The continent of Europe’s current daily report of COVID-19 infection is about 200,000 which has surpassed every other places worldwide as the number surged on Thursday. The continent account for nearly 19% of the global deaths and 22% of global cases according to reports from Reuters.
Some of the countries with the highest number of cases includes the likes of the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Russia, Belgium and Spain all which accounts for about two-third of the 250,000 deaths registered in the continent with 8 million reported cases of the infection.
The United Kingdom has recorded about 45,000 deaths then Italy, Spain, France and Russia respectively. With the rising case of the COVID-19 in the UK, the country’s prime minister Boris Johnson stated on Thursday that Britain cannot rely on a vaccine nd will need to use other measures to slow the spread of the pandemic.

Based on last seven-days daily reported average deaths, Russia is reporting 250 deaths per day, Europe’s highest toll, followed by the United Kingdom and France with about 143 deaths each.
France became the seventh country to report more than 1 million coronavirus cases on Friday. It has been one of the countries hardest hit in the second wave and has imposed curfews across much of the nation.
The number of deaths in France has increased for 10 days straight according to analysis from Reuters analysis. Then Spain has recently crossed 1 million cases and its reporting some 13 fatalities on the latest seven day average of reported deths.
The death rate in the country has increase to 7.38 per 10,000 people which makes it the highest in the continent of Europe and second highest in the world after Peru in Latin America.
The global coronavirus tally stands at about 42.1 million cases and 1.1 million deaths, according to a Reuters tally. As of now, there haven’t been reported cases of health services being overwhelmed as it was during the first wave, medial authorities have also warned that there could be serious case due to colder weather.
