Xiaomi’s legal department announced that they’ve apprehended a criminal ring which specialises in the production and sales of fake Mi Bluetooth headsets which also includes its Mi TWS earbuds. The team also disclosed that they received a report back in March of the year 2020 and subsequently discovered an online shopping platform which sells a large number of counterfeit Mi Bluetooth headsets.
The company has however hinted that they took drastic measures with the assistance of security officials who were able to help in tracking down the production base which was located in an industrial park in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province back in April.
Other information disclosed by the Xiaomi’s Legal Department includes the fact that some of the products gave already been fully produced while others aren’t. Over 1000 units of the fake Mi Bluetooth headsets, packaged in similar boxes just as the original products were also seized and the culprits were all apprehended. Xiaomi also seek to pursue legal means of bringing the culprits into justice.

Xiaomi as we know makes a lot of devices ranging from home appliances to smart Consumer electronics and even personal medical protective gears such as face masks. But the company won’t allow anyone make a copy of it’s products illegally which is why it ventures into apprehending any culprit and bringing them into justice.

Aside China, India is another place where fake products are also being made where the brand had been able to dominate a share in the market of both most populated counties in Asia. Back in December 2019, fake Xiaomi products worth over 13 Lakhs or $18,000 were confiscated at Delhi’s Gaffar Market in India.
With that, the company advises it’s customers to only purchase its products from authorized channels in order to stir-clear of fake products mimicking the original in every ways possible.
