Samsung the largest smartphone maker in the world announced back in April the Galaxy A21 and it’s said that the South Korean tech giant is on the verge of releasing the Galaxy A22 5G by the second half of the year 2021 and report from a South Korean Publication has it that this could be one of the most affordable 5G Android smartphone.

Basically, Samsung is updating some of the Galaxy A-series lineup which will also include the Galaxy A32 5G which will also be another affordable 5G smartphone by the first half of the year 2021.

As for the chipset, Samsung is reportedly going for the MediaTek Dimensity 720 5G processor with a likely price tag of about US$365.

And speaking of the Galaxy A22, it’s numerical position could see it placed right below the Galaxy A32 5G which might make it the cheaper 5G smartphone meanwhile since 5G smartphones are on the verge of becoming really popular by 2021, its safe to assume that other brands might be attempting to come out with cheaper 5G-enabled smartphones as well.

In 2018, Samsung adopted the ODM order system to let Chinese firms design and produce their smartphones. In 2019, Samsung increased the proportion of phones manufacturer by ODMs.

This is was meant to help increase the company’s market share especially in new markets in Asia such as China and India but this has caused some backlash among part suppliers who had initially cooperated with Samsung with this, the company needed to come up with the Joint Development and Production (JDM) strategy which allowed Samsung to be partially involved in the selection of major specifications of whatever product being produced.

So the Galaxy A22 5G will reportedly be jointly manufactured with China-based firms such as Hwachin and Wingtech and the output will b sold to emerging markets in Southeast Asia and Southern parts as well. When more reports are released, we’ll do well to keep you abreast and well informed.
