Samsung is now joining a host of other manufacturers to move their manufacturing side of their businesses right out of China to other countries. This is an attempt to further expand supply chain so that when any other tough and unexpected situations such as the one the world is experiencing (Covid-19 pandemic), business and supply chain will not be totally affected by it. Samsung is in short moving out of China.

Samsung so is moving most if it’s factories out of the Chinese sites as the company officially announced earlier today it would be moving it’s computer monitor operation straight to Vietnam.

The Vietnamese division of the company made the announcement that it would transfer majority of it’s monitor manufacturing out of China and straight to Vietnam where it would operate in the Samsung HCMC CE Complex factory over there in Vietnam.

And that places the South Korean tech titan as one of the single largest investor in Vietnam which totals about US$17 billion in investments and that shift would make Samsung the largest monitor manufacturer in the world from Vietnam.

A Vietnamese newspaperTuoi Tre, the state-run newspaper, “Samsung sees Vietnam as an important gateway to other Southeast Asian countries and a link in its global supply chain”. reported.

Samsung also led the Vietnamese 24-inch and above-sized monitor segment during the first quarter of the year 2020 which saw a big 34% market share as per IDC and the demands for the larger screen size is on the increase which will allow the region to further benefit from getting the latest displays as they’re being manufactured locally. Samsung is expected to be moving out of China y the end of the year 2020.
