The Coronavirus pandemic is a real issue and its spreading throughout the world that it’s almost impossible to avoid it. It’s gotten to the brink whereby someone you know probably have it and because this is the new reality we all have to live in, there is the need to take some precautionary measures in order to get you and your families safe and secured from the pandemic.
So the short story is that in my new apartment location where I’ve been under a month, one of my neighbor who lives at the upstairs tested positive to COVID-19 but she had recovered from it as at the time I’d move in.
Normally, the building is a semi-detached house and my apartment and hers are just on top of one another but we do not really share anything together by any means meanwhile based on medical researches, the main source of transmission of the coronavirus is via droplets which can travel through air.
Also the fact that we share the same gate meant she might the gate and the staircase might as well be infected. However, upon her diagnoses, the house was continuously sanitized which is the number and most essential step and also she had to be isolated in other to curb off the spread to others around the neighborhood.

Upon getting informed, I basically took some preventive measures based on the healthcare workers guidelines which includes self isolation and also continuing the sanitary process which includes constant handwashing whenever I step out to the verandas as well as sanitizing surfaces and objects such as keys and locks and other places I use.
It’s also being scientifically proven that not everyone that has the coronavirus usually have signs and symptoms of it and the symptoms can as well be mild or even severe especially if one have some underlying health conditions which could make the disease life threatening.
While vaccination is still at its earliest state and its not yet approved around the globe just yet, there is need to follow the usual guidelines of practicing immune boosting exercises as well as eating healthy while also keeping a good personal hygiene.
While I never have any signs or symptoms of the disease, during my self-isolation period when I realized my neighbor had tested positive to COVID-19 here are the precautionary measures I took to stay safe and cope with the news.
Understand the situation
While I’m an optimistic person, I don’t always allow situations weigh on me unnecessarily which is why I kept the positive vibe throughout the period. One good news is that she had recovered from the virus and she’s fine and she’s in fact up and back to her work, your own case might not be like that.
Maybe your neighbor just got his or her report about testing positive to the coronavirus or its someone you’re really close to or that you’ve shared the same items with, the fact that people tend to start exhibiting signs and symptoms of the illness under just 2 to 14 days mean you might have come in contact with the virus as well and that is why you also need to keep the positive vibe in order to stay healthy.
In order to be able to fight this, you need to be in the healthy state of mind first whereby you can be able to understand how to go about your life even though via quarantine which is why this is the first thign that is essential to you.
You can ask your healthcare worker for more guidance on how to go about this in case you have more personal questions but one thing you want to avoid by all means is stressing over this unnecessarily or getting anxiety and panic attack.
Sanitize your home and environments

In the case with my neighbor, we do not share direct space together whatsoever and we barely met but your own case might be different. In the situation whereby you both come in close contact with one another probably through the elevator or staircase or someone you’ve spent time with prior to their positive COVID-19 result, you need to sanitize your environment and keep your home free from germs.
You want to start from your doorstep and ensuring that everywhere is safe and secure by sanitizing, washing and scrubbing everywhere. Also ensure to sanitize your kitchen table surface and door knobs and everywhere you frequent and the places where visitors will often frequent and pass through when coming into your home.
As a rule of thumb, regularly wipe down frequently touched services (even if you’re the only one touching them!). Think doorknobs, faucets, cellphones, counters, and toilets. This goes double for any shared spaces you may have in your apartment building, like the main entrance, mailboxes, and elevator buttons. Washing hands after touching any shared items is critical, as is not touching your face (especially the eyes, nose, and mouth areas).
The Healthy Diet and Hygiene

The next and most important thing is to maintain a healthy diets and hygiene. A healthy lifestyle will not only protect yo from the covid-19, it will also protect you from other germs and diseases all around you.
Handwashing is still a necessity and you not touching your mouth or nose is another but also eating good foods and following a healthy dietary calendar is equally important to ensuring your total safety and immunity right up against all these deadly diseases around.
Researchers have stated in the past that the coronavirus can survive on surfaces such as table and so forth but the a proper hygienic environment and practices can be of help to shield against the virus.
Pat of good and healthy lifestyle is to constantly exercise rather than living a sedentary lifestyle which ultimately kill you bit by bit. Early morning workout or a jog around your compound or even in your living room can go a really long way which is just meant to trick your body into action.
Also ensure to visit the CDC website to learn more about the preventive measures to take in order to stay safe and secured and boost your immunity right up against the deadly virus.
Other things you can do is to socially distant yourself from the said person as well as others because the reality is that as the number of reported cases increases, the chances of you ever coming in contact with someone who has the coronavirus increases which is why adequate preventive measures needs to be taken and when your country make available the vaccine, you should ensure to take part in getting yourself vaccinate as well.
