This would be one of the most interesting things as Sony is said to be buying Leyou Technologies which is a major stakeholder in the Digital Extremes which made the Warframe.
The news reported by Bloomberg said the big acquisition will allow Sony to have much more free-to-play titles which includes successful games such as Warframe and the up and coming Lord of the Rings MMO. LeYou Technologies is currently being valued at US$1 billion which is definitely something Sony which gained over US$18 billion via it’s PlayStation gaming in 2019 alone.
Leyou Technologies has a number of free to play games which should also enhance Sony’s revenue further when the acquisition is eventually formalized. Another thing is that the company will also have a much more solidified ground in the Chinese gaming market while also taking it’s reach even farther through the entire globe from there.
Popular titles under Leyou Technologies include:

- Warframe developers Digital Extremes
- Splash Damage (the one’s behind the popular PC port of the Halo: Master Chief Collection)
- Athlon Games, the publisher behind Samurai Shodown for SNK
- Radiance Games and more

If the bid goes through, the gaming world would have a far reaching rippling effect based on Sony’s future plans with the aforementioned studios and their popular video game titles. Although, it is still too early to tell, so stay tuned for further updates that will be provided once more developments are known.
Aside Sony buying Leyou technologies, the next Sony PlayStation 5 is on its way and many people are saying they do not like or like the design of the game console but the capability of the console is what matters the most rater than the design of things.
