Google recently confirmed the release and the hardware design of its forthcoming Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro and the newest is the Pixel 5A which is expected to be released pretty soon.
The Pixel phones with the “A” are usually the mid-range variant of the more premium-tier devices released by Google months prior and that is the same with the Pixel 5a as it’s going to be the cheaper variant of the Pixel 5 released back in 2020.
Google will reportedly release the device in just two markets which are the U.S. market and Japan and the debut date could be as soon as Thursday, August 26th.

Leaked Specifications of the Pixel 5a
- Color: Mostly Black
- Display: 6.4 inch, 60Hz – forced 90Hz
- Processor: Snapdragon 765G
- Battery: 4650MaH
- Wireless charging: No
- RAM: 6GB
On paper, the Pixel 5a will definitely be a slight upgrade from the Pixel 4a. A good example will be the battery bump to 4,650mAh compared to that of the Pixel 4a which only had a 3,800mAh battery.

There might also be some feature inclusion such as the headphone jack and IP67 rating both of which were on the main Pixel 5 last year. The listed retail price of the device is said to be about US$450.
This exclusive information from Jon Prosser of FrontPageTech might be true considering his track record as with the Pixel 6 series for example however if the Pixel 5a will be launched later on in August, then we might just have to wait ahead to see more information in coming weeks.
