This year 2020 is a time for more innovation and interesting invention and OnePlus is obviously not backing out of that trend as well. The company’s boss Pete Lau has just teased the company’s up and coming smartphone display which is expected to feature on the next OnePlus flagship smartphone this year.
The 120Hz Fluid Display is expected to offer a monstrous frame rate which is going to be more useful for content consumers. The company’s CEO made this known via Twitter where he claims the OnePlus 8 Pro will enable motion interpolation.
In case that sounds too technical to you, what that meant is that is that you’ll be able to watch let’s say 30FPS or 60FPS video and “MEMC” chip in the OnePlus 8 Pro which will create an additional frame which will simulate a much higher rate which is common among high-end TVs in our modern days. The high-res display simply alter the frame rate thereby changing the intended experience of the viewer.
Based on Lau’s comparison to a conventional 60Hz display, the 120Hz Fluid Display his company is working on, there is no better way to get this done than to actually slow down the footage being experimented on to at least 30FPS .
Also the OnePlus 8 Pro will come in the new design trend championed by Samsung, the hole-punch display and also the device will have a quad-camera setup at the back while the overall design of the hardware might look similar to those of the older OnePlus 7 Pro. Other specification includes Snapdragon 865 chipset, 12GB of RAM, and run the latest version of Oxygen OS.
When the OnePlus 8 series will be released isn’t yet confirmed but we’re certain to be around mid 2020 when we’ll get to see the awesome works the company had been working on for the past one year.
