Meizu, the company ones released a hole-less, portless smartphone last year had made some nice announcement of it’s annual image contest which is dubbed One Moments Awards or OMA 2019. This contest starts today December 13th and will end as early as January 3rd 2020.

What Meizu is aiming at here is to encourage mobile photographers capture beautiful pictures and views just to exhibit their skills and all that. The company plans to give winner it’s Meizu 17 as a price which is it’s flagship smartphone.

Whoever wins the competition (OMA 2019) will be announced later on by January 2020 as the company will be selecting 10 photographs for the year and only one of them will be awarded Meizu OMA 2019 mobile phone photographer of the year.

There will be one jury award who will win the Meizu OMA 2019 video officer title. He/she will be awarded with a Meizu 17 5G phone, 10,000 Yuan creation funds and an opportunity to shoot for smartphone’s promo material. Here is the link to participate in the contest.

Meizu claims it want to help people unleash their creativeness and encourage vidoeography skills among participants all around. But part of the marketing strategies the company is probably deploying to enhance the market awareness of it’s flagship, Meizu 17 which will be the company’s first 5G smartphone powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset.

Another thing is that Meizu is further trying to enhance it’s smartphone camera experience. The previous Meizu 16s Pro is equipped with a 48MP Sony IMX586 main lens and also equipped with OIS. With the next Meizu 17, we’re definitely going to witness a top-notch photography device with higher specifications.

Meizu tries in it’s possibilities to be innovative and improve on it’s technology every now and then which is one thing I truly find amusing about their smartphones.
