The US-China trade-war is no longer a news and Huawei had taken majority of the blow from the Trump administration after the company went into the US trade blacklist. And for a few months now, there seems to be nothing happening as far as resolving this issue is concerned.
Probably concerned about the state of things, Huawei Executives wants to have a conversation with the US government if at all a trade deal is going to be agreed upon. According to the company’s Chief Security Officer Andy Purdy, “Can I imagine a trade deal where the US government doesn’t talk to us? No I can’t.”
Purdy also made it known that the current ban on Huawei is having a negative impact on other US tech companies as they are losing their major partner which has seen the creation of about 40,000 jobs in the US alongside an $11 Billion on US supplies being purchased by Huawei.
Purdy furthered his conversation by stating all Huawei wants is a transparent mechanism for evaluating the company’s equipment and that of it’s competitors which would in turn build a long lasting trust through verification. In his words, Purdy said “We’re not asking we should simply be allowed to sell without any scrutiny. We believe there has to be scrutiny for everyone.”

The US government had put Huawei on it’s “Entity List” through which an executive order was signed to bar the Chinese company from using any of American companies hardware and software and other partnership. This has led to the untimely demise of partnership between the company and other top US companies like Google or Qualcomm.
This had led to many speculations about Huawei building it’s own Operating System which was later on announced last month, the Harmony OS (HongMeng OS). It’s a universal OS that works across various hardware like smarthome devices, smartphones and TVs to car infotainment system. It’s even said to be much faster and efficient than the Android OS.
Later this month, Huawei will launch it’s flagship, the Huawei Mate 30 series and people are concerned whether the device will run on Android or just the Harmony OS considering the ban.
And talking about the ban, the US government had urged other countries to also join the banning of Huawei, stating they pose a serious national security risk as Chinese government is said to be spying on everyone through Huawei.
Huawei, on the other hand, has denied any wrongdoing and has even accused the United States of singling it out for political reasons.
