China seems to not be totally cool with the US banning Huawei, one of Chinese’s largest telecommunication company as well as the second largest smartphone maker in the world. The country has stated that the US government needs to stop the “unreasonable suppression” of Huawei and others which the company had blacklisted in the past and currently.
The US Government under the administration of President Trump on Friday moved to block global chip supplies to Huawei which further causing fears of Chinese retaliation which could hamper the share of US producers of chipmaking equipment.
China will firmly defend its companies’ legal rights, the foreign ministry said in a statement in response to Reuters’ questions on whether Beijing would take retaliatory measures against the United States.
Huawei was blacklisted by the US Government last year and placed on the entity list due to “National security” concerns as the US government believes Huawei’s devices has backdoor which could be used to access information by the Chinese government and so the company’s products was initially banned among top officials before being totally blacklisted as well as US companies banned from working with the company which caused a lot of grumbling in the tech community since last year.

This move apparently affected Huawei’s devices and that affected their ultimate partnership with Google’s Android license and since then, the company had been launching its devices without the Google’s version of Android instead, the Android Open Source Project or AOSP which isn’t maintained by the search engine giant.
This made Huawei develop it’s own security and support system within the EMUI (Huawei’s skin on the Android AOSP) software which it calls the Huawei Mobile Service (HMS) in place of the Google Mobile Service (GMS) which is meant to help support those devices that do not run on the supported Android OS from Google. The company even built it’s own mobile app store it called the App Gallery which is meant to replace the Google Play Store.
