I once saw the news last week about Apple wanting to create a Lite AirPods Pro which is expected to be budget friendly kind of. The news came through DigiTimes which speculated that Apple is planning to create a “Lite” AirPods Pro.
It’s no doubt the AirPods are very successful and sold massively throughout the globe and Apple is betting on that to create a much affordable model that would eventually sweep off its competitors I suggest. The AirPods 2 is priced about $159 while the AirPods Pro is much more expensive at around $249 which definitely makes it unaffordable for most people despite their admiration for the product and Apple as a brand in itself.

The fact that Apple is now considering the entire populace by introducing affordable products will help keep the company’s image in a high status. When we heard about the iPhone 9 (or iPhone SE2) which is supposed to be the cheaper model before the iPhone 12 is released, we know Apple definitely have plans for everyone.

But anyway, according to the new report, Taiwan’s Universal Scientific Industrial (USI) will likely be the main supplier of the new AirPods Pro Lite (name hasn’t been confirmed yet) and the new model will employ a system-in-package (SiP) chip constriction.
Wholw eeverything is still in the rumor stage, this means the budget friendly AirPods Pro could arrive by mid-year if the rumor is true but the outbreak of the CoronaVirus Covid-19 in China might affect updates altogether.
In general, Apple’s Pro line of Airpods is expected to grow to 40-50% of total AirPod sales by the year’s end. Meanwhile, other manufacturers have already being copying the AirPods design aesthetics to create more cheaper alternatives of the AirPods Pro.
