You can sort apps by their first letter on the newly-designed Windows 11 Start-menu

Time-saving way to surf through your unending list of apps on your PC

The Windows 11 craze is far from over and we’re already seeing a number of interesting stories about how awesome or not-so-great the new redesigned operating system is but anyway, let’s all take the time to appreciate the good aesthetics of the OS and teach ourselves how to find apps by their first letter on Windows 11.

One reason this is quite important is due to the fact that Microsoft has decided to redesign the UI of the Start Menu as well as repositioning it from the left-hand corner to the center (although you can take it back to where it used to be if that is your thing.)

There isn’t much different in terms of how the update will function when compared to its predecessor the Windows 10 which is currently one of Microsoft’s best Windows update since Windows 7 of course (excluding Windows 8).

Some 6 months back, I also wrote a simple guide on how to find apps by their first letter on Windows 10, this guide is quite similar to that as well because aside adding up some few apps and integrating the Windows platform with Amazon mobile app store in order to create an environment to run Android apps, Windows 11 is just a well designed Windows 10.

How to find app by letter on Windows 11

You would usually have to go through the Start button(now at the bottom-center) of the toolbar branded with the Windows logo which will then open up the Start tray.

From the tray, you can click on the All Apps button right at the upper-right corner to see a list of all applications you’ve installed on your PC.

If you can still remember the name of the application, why not just start typing the name using the keyboard as the search box will automatically be summoned and the corresponding apps and files will be shown on the result page.

But for the purpose of this tutorial, we won’t be going that route. So what you’ll notice is that all apps installed on your PC are listed alphabetically from the letter A to Z.

Depending on how many apps you have, going down that list of apps can be daunting because take for example, if you have all the Adobe CC programs installed on your PC, before you get to the letter B on the list might take a lot of scrolling and so on and so forth.

So what you want to do is to just click on that letter – either letter A, B or C. When you do, then the interface will change to reveal all the alphabetical categorization of apps on your PC – sounds nice right?

So if the program you’re looking for starts with letter S for example, you can then just click on the letter S on that list and then you’ll see all the programs/apps installed on your PC starting with letter S – Spotify for example.
