Honor did announced that it was giving out its new Honor 30 Pro Plus and Honor 10X 5G smartphones to a team of China’s 2020 Mount Everest Survey Mountaineering Team. The company had gone ahead to show the images taken from the devices especially the Honor 10x 5G whose 5G capability was put to test on the mountain.
The 5G network test was conducted at an altitude of about 5800 – 6500 meters with the phone being able to achieve a a download speed of about 1,617Mbps while the upload speed peaked 90.3Mbps and the ping value is about 74ms.
And there isn’t much to be seen about the Honor 10x though but we did see what it looks like from the front. Though the device was certified by TENAA, most important details might not be found on just the certification alone. But the design of the design made it looked like the previous Honor 9x which has no notch or hole-punch which means the front-facing camera is possibly a pop-up camera.
But other details based on the TENAA data showed the device will have a matrix rear camera design as well as the display being a 6.63-inch LCD display with a 2400 x 1080 pixels of resolution. The device will also run on the Kirin 820 5G chipset with a 4200mAh battery with 22.5W fast charge support with a side-mounted sensor.
Buy my take on this is with the display and I still wouldn’t know why Honor won’t have OLED displays on their high-end mid-range smartphones which can be quite annoying considering the fact that companies like Xiaomi, Samsung all do this on the regular. But we have to wait for more details about the device as we come across more.
