The Mate X which is Huawei’s firsts foldable phone will go on sale in China starting from next month according to words from the company’s CEO during the official presentation of the Mate 30 series last week.
Even though there wasn’t a smooth launching for the folding smartphone especially the Nate X which appears to be the first generation as far as Huawei is concerned, a better plan is already in place for the second generation of the Mate X.
In a report published on LetsGoDigital about a few months ago, Huawei is said to be already working a folding smartphone with a second display which would in fact come with a stylus pen.

Huawei Mate X 2 smartphone with stylus pen?
How we knew this was via a patent filed by Huawei Technology back in February this year with the USPTO (The United States Patent and Trademark Office) for an “Electronic Device”. Since the 26th of September this year, the patent is said to also be included in the WIPO’s (World Intellectual Property Office) database.
In the Patent filed showed a foldable smartphone which looks exactly like the already introduced Mate X but the difference this time is that it has a compartment on the underside specially meant for stylus pen storage.
This compartment is infact processed in the side bar which the camera system is also integrated if you remember the way the Huawei Mate X was designed. It’s like the side bar would function as both holder and camera system compartment and even sylus storage for the Huawei Mate X 2. Even the current Mate X has the USB port at this location.
Huawei seems to be clearly intending to refine the design of the current Mate X. Last year, the Chinese manufacturer released the huge Mate 20 X gaming smartphone, this high-end smartphone was also equipped with a stylus pen, called the M-Pen.
Considering how massive the surface areas of a foldable smartphone is, it would make sense if a stylus pen is introduced into it. And considering how beautiful and futuristic the Huawei Mate X already looks, this addition would be even cooler and attractie.
Elsewhere, LG too has already filed a patent for a folding smartphone with a stylus as well making them the second after Huawei. And according to the same source, it’s like Samsung too wants to join the league.

As for the Huawei, the next conceived idea will include the stylus and it seems there is no going back. But the existing Mate X is said to be sold at a retail price of about € 2,300 is already one of the most expensive folding phones.
Athough we will expect it next month as Richard Yu had claimed but the exact date is nothing official. Meanwhile with the prohibition of Google Services on the exisiting Huawei Mate 30 Series, and he development of the Harmony OS, it seems Huawei might have a go ahead with it’s own property with it’s flagship Folding phone considering the fact that the company even registered the Harmony Studio brand name for this device.
But whatever comes out of this will surely be reported right here on Brumpost. So stay tuned at all times.
